Not sure you can class this one as a leak. Visitors to the club shop /ticket office saw the signage going up.

OK, but sloppy way to do things then. Should have been coordinated. Not hard to do. Worse than a leak is that Petrov.

So true, with regards the family leaving the last job was at AETC Turbines Yeadon we spoke about if it worked out and I felt secure we would have a look for a property in Yeadon, having shopped around estate agents and the internet we decided to stay as properties in Yeadon were very expensive.
As i say we love where we are the mortgage was off or nearly finished both our girls lived locally (the youngest next door) so ultimately we stayed, we're still very happy where we are even though as you point out the demographic have changed, it is still a very quiet street where neighbours go about their business the majority of the bungalows have been extended but as I say still a nice area to live in I think we'll be here until we die.

Who cares? They've got to get the sign put up and take the pics with the UOB rep.
    Hardly sloppy.

You live in Wibsey? That correct. Nothing wrong with there but the problem is the unwanted from the South have now fulled Great Horton and they are starting to move them up to Wibsey.

Wibsey is a decent area but seriously the Goverment and council have a lot to answer for. Bradford shouldn't be in this mess. Great people and hard working people in Bradford.

However, when I talk about Bradford City not owning anything for me it just highlights the unwillingness to invest in the City. Not enough businesses are wanting to improve the area. The ice rink is a joke. What did Leeds do? Build there own.

It's always down to the public of Bradford to improve the City and that is wrong!

As I say we're more than happy to stay where we are we all get on in the street.
The Bradford situation has been well documented, being of a certain age much of the demise of this once great City has played out during my lifetime.
Most of what Bradford did well was heavy engineering, textiles etc most low level skills which the owners certainly made the best of with regards unskilled workers.
Then they realised they could get most of what they produced in Bradford made far cheaper abroad and once these manufacturing jobs went there we few companies prepared to invest in Bradford apart from cal centres and the like.
But you're quite right neither parties and we've had Tory councils in the past did little to redress the situation and although the City has won the City of Culture award and all that goes with it I can only see decline for this one proud City especially with the likes of Leeds less than half an hour away down the M62/A621, so sad.

We didn't react to Leeds. That was the problem. Lazy. Was it in the 90's when Leeds did a campaign called Leeds Booming for something then got in Harvey Nics then it just went from there.

Even today, I was at a council meeting in Leeds and their banner was saying" aiming to be the best council in the UK" Or something to that effect. What does Bradford say? Where is the begging bowl?

The whole city is negative. I want to hear how we are going to improve places, bring up the city. How we are going to move the city forward. Exciting plans. It's boring. Loads of teenagers walking around decent places like Thackley, Wrose etc because they are BORED! Teenagers committing silly crimes because they are bored!

We honestly need to get a grip. Put pressure on the council and even Bradford City, the University etc to improve the area.

Stadium sponsorship is a big deal. Small things matter and if you let these go then its likely other major stuff is not what it should be too. It's wasn't hard to get this right. Just lazy work from those concerned.

Clearly Bradford has a number of issues, some of them huge and now ingrained. However if you look at other conurbations, then they have comparable issues. Manchester may have two huge football teams, but apart from Chorlton and Didsbury, (and some of the gentrified Castlefield flats) the area is fairly run down. All the footballers tend to live well out of Manchester, the Cheshire Golden Triangle is a magnet! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Golden_Triangle_(Cheshire)
Bradford does have some very desirable areas within its boundary, Ilkley, Burley in Wharfedale, Menston, readily come to mind and other areas like Shipley/Baildon and Bingley plus its surrounding villages are fairly pleasant.
How many Liverpool (or indeed Everton) players actually live in Liverpool? You well know that they live in Formby or the Cheshire Golden triangle!

You're mistaken so far as student loans are concerned. When a student takes out a loan for say £9k with the Govt-owned Student Loan Company that money is transferred automatically and almost immediately to the University in full. The repayment of the loan including the interest is between the student and the SLC. Any part of the loan which is not paid back over the next 30 or so years is written off by the Govt.

I take your point about the amount received from research and other commercial relationships especially for the Russell group.

It's not though. It's paid in instalments throughout the year and in real terms its actually less than they got under the previous system where Students paid some upfront and they also got money from the Government and the system before that where the Government gave them money. Also while I can't find any official confirmation of this I've seen claims that the SLC actually only pay the amount after costs to the Uni so they aren't even getting the full amount which makes the amount in real terms even lower. That's the thing with the new system, it is pretty much just government funding uni's with a small amount paid back by graduates who can afford to make a small payment each year (It kicks in at about £21k I believe and unless things have changed recently kicks in after actual student loan repayments kick in). It's certainly not £9k upfront extra for the uni's, for them its pretty much status quo as they largely lost all other government funding they had before

The council is skint. It's had its budget slashed in half since 2010 due to Austerity. Where exactly do you expect it to find the money to make these improvements?

These are clearly undesirable. But they don't explain the decades-long decline in Bradford's fortunes.

Steve the decline of this one great City started long before the Tories got into government.
