New Kit 2022/23 (with Poll)

Never understood the boats head being on the shirt. I get it's part of the coat of arms of Bradford but we go by the moniker of the bantams. What's that got to do with a pig's head?

 

Bantams cos of the colours be play in..that’s the only connection. I’m thinking along the lines of Coventry’s badge vs nickname. Watford too…do they have a hornet on their badge? Nope (weirdly it’s a moose). Don’t get me started on Everton’s nickname. Always confuses me, because I thought it was Everton mints, not toffees

 

It was before my time but o thought that boar looks naff tbh, but suppose it’s personal preference. BPA and Bulls are more connected with the Bradford coat of arms than us and play in traditional Bradford colours. We were formed as a Manningham club and our colours and badge are unique to us. All that said there’s bigger things to worry about. I’d keep everything as it is non of this rebranding stuff they were going on about last year, interest will be gained by winning bloody football matches not a pig head.

 

Bang on. Nothing wrong with our bloody nickname or badge. I just have to take one look at what Wigan Warriors did to their badge. Awful.

 

That said, the boar was caught & killed within sight of VP in the woods that covered Undercliffe to Bolton Woods, so it's actually more relevant to us than it is to The Stans or the Bullocks.

Also, it's been confirmed we're back to stripes so I think we can safely rule out anything like the above.

 

The rugby club was formed as Manningham, when it converted to football they did not continue with that. The club represents it's city, not a chicken - that only came about some years into our existence because of a resemblance to a specific kit.

There is no real link to a bantam, the coat of arms should be on our shirt to show who we represent.

I don't know, and I don't care. I support Bradford City so what is on other clubs kits doesn't concern me in any way.

 

Neither do I but there’s a reason no club does it because they look crap and old fashioned and the club is a private sporting club, it’s not its job to represent a city which has people from over the world and people who support other clubs. We aren’t Bradford’s club we’re Bradford City.
