No white home shorts this year.

Middle aged men are crying on twitter we might be playing in white shorts next season.

 

If I’m honest I couldn’t tell you the colour shorts from the season just gone, I remember the top obviously but I don’t spend any sort of time admiring men in football shorts to remember such a thing. Or give a shit for that matter, out of everything to get pissed off about that has to be up there with the strangest thing going.

 

Kits are for 12 months. Here today, gone next year.

Only reason why I don't think they are are home shorts is because they have black on them. Home shorts should at least have a fair bit of amber or claret on them.

also probably nonsense but before this reveal I saw a tweet saying the away kit is black and white stripes. these shorts would fit well with that.

 

You've opted for blue but using the same criss-crossy template in your training gear. We're lead to believe the tracksuit top I posted on the previous page is a pre-game warm up top. So we could end up training in blue too.

 

Rest assured we won't be playing at home in white shorts!

I'd like to see us revert to the boars head again for the club badge. I like the story behind it and the traditionalist in me will always plump for that romantic image of a headless boar that was decided by the founding fathers of our city.

Having said that, the way we've been playing in recent years a headless chicken would probably be more apt as an image to symbolise what we're really about!

 

I think we started using an alternative colour for our training gear, as claret and amber versions were outselling the actual shirts at one point when we were going through a spell of pretty awful kits.

Disappointing personally as the training tops were quite smart and distinctive in our colours however could be perceived as any number of teams in blue

 

We had Amber teaining kits last season. We had red the other year too. I think they just alternate and differ from the away and 3rd shirt.

 

Ridehalgh is okay. Dependable backup for a side going for promotion but nothing more. But that backup role seems to have been filled by Foulds now with his new deal so I'd suspect Ridehalgh would need to go if we're to upgrade in that position and I'd be happy with that.

 

The Regal logo?

Yes the Regal logo. Looks like it was designed in Paintshop Pro in 1996!

 

it was a boar “sans tongue”. Although by logic it did also end up without a head! Yes, I like that logo too, and one that’s also represented on the coat of arms and throughout the city. Not sure why they dropped it (or changed over in the first place). Maybe to differentiate from the rugby club, although that ultimately changed into a Bull as part of their own rebrand.
