In addition to my previous post above. The only way the club will get the manager it deserves is to go down the 'head hunted' route once again just as the club did to get Adams. And once again the club will be unable to get the calibre of manager it needs to get promoted. After all who in their right mind would take over if they are already at a club in a good position both on and off the field....and once again the club would have to pay out a compensation package. Good job the club is financially secure....or is it after all the money wasted of late ??????

 

And your point is caller, unfortunately for little clubs like Morecambe they will always be the threat of the manager who does well being poached by a bigger club, in this case Bradford City.

No that’s not necessarily true. It depends on his original contract. Don’t forget these people are lawyered to the hilt, before they sign anything.

Cook's not a target man. His control with back to goal is pretty shocking. Often the ball bounces off him before the midfield have time to get anywhere near him.

 

He is…The whole concept of a target man in a 3-5-1 , . A focal point of any attack starting . Pace, mobility, and ability to hold the ball awaiting back up from the 5. It was in my days when we had cork for studs ?

 

We should really be paying them if walks into that job.

He left an up and coming club jeeeez are they now a Pompey a Bolton ???? No he left because he knew that he would struggle to keep them up and we probably offered him more cash that’s the be all and end all .............. as for players on long term deal I agree we have some dross still there but does it help that he’s added to that dross ???? I mean bad enough having one striker who hardly gets goals but he’s brought in four of them

I had high hopes in the beginning. But his cold, detached attitude has sucked any joy out of our football or the club itself. Adams majored in stand-offishness and divide by rule. His final astonishing claims that all was well because people weren't looking at the data and stats about how many chances his team created was utterly laughable. The telling data and stats says we're 11th, drawn more games than any other in the Football League, struggle to score goals, concede late and play dour, dull football. Glad he's gone.

 

You started so well there Kev, then mentioned Pace (which Cook hasn't got), Mobility (which Madge from Benidorm has more of) and ability to hold up the ball (which usually just bounces off his fast increasing waistline).

I don't know what Adams has done to him, perhaps its comfort eating, but he looks more and more like he should be playing for the Dog & Duck by every passing week.

His goal scoring record is acceptable though, and I think if he played alongside a genuine target man, with actual pace, proper mobility and the ability to hold up the ball it would be even better. He's much more David McNiven than he is Lee Mills (or even Joe Cooke).
