Let's not be silly. The lad has made a comment which I know to be tongue in cheek. Yes, he shouldn't have said it as these days are different to years ago. But banning people? I know he was being sarcastic because I asked him.

Looking at some of the referees we have had this season all who have been men, and basically all have been fecking useless. I'll be at the game with my daughter tomorrow who one day might want to become a referee. Lets hope I don't have to explain to her what some drunken moron is shouting at the referee for simply being born female.

I don't think attacking Nick Kitchen for being little is any better than attacking the referee for being female.

 

We should also question why Simon Parker and the Telegraph and Argus thought it necessary to write an article about this - all that matters is that she is good enough at refereeing a game of football, not her gender.

One man's just for a laugh banter can be bloody hurtful and offensive to their intended target. I'm sick to death of this dinosaur attitude of 'why can't they just take a joke?' nonsense. It's like making the victim of the insult the person to be blamed.

Exactly. It would be better to just outright say 'I don't care if I upset people' than blame people for being upset.
