The minimum capacity is 5,000 to do it anymore would be stupid and means clubs don't have to needlessly invest in 10,000 stadiums that they'd never use. Imagine Crawley or Accrington or Sutton having a 10,000 stadium. It would stop them getting promoted

The full rules for capacity are:
- To get promoted it's 4,000 (500 of which must be seats) with the ability to increase to 5,000 (1000 of which must be seats).
- Then they have until 30th April in the first season to get to that 5,000 mark with at least 1000 of that seated with the ability to make that 2,000
- Should the club remind in the EFL they have until 30th April in their 3rd season to get to the 2,000 seated capacity in a 5,000 stadium
So by the 30th April next year they'll need to get their seated capacity to 2,000. As a guess they'll probably have to convert the whole of the stand on the side where there is currently standing into seats but even then that might not be enough

 

Rules are that you have to offer at least 10% of capacity or 2,000 whichever is lower so they are giving more than they need to. Police will have a big say and it may be that their costs outweigh the cost of the extra tickets. Looking on the football ground guide their information is out of date so it could be that away allocation isn't what it says on there.
Looking at previous matches they gave Oldham 600, Barrow 600, Exeter 500, Scunthorpe 610, Tranmere 600. all of them has 148 seated tickets so looks we've only been allocated 50 less standing tickets than others have had. Even in the FA Cup Wrexham got 600 so they were bang on the 15% allocation required.

 

Behave. It's more tinpot than most tinpot npl grounds and we aren't in that league.

 

Tinpot club that would rather have 2,000 empty capacity than be flexible in their allocation of where away fans go.
