Adams didn't give anything away about the line up for tomorrow in his press conference yesterday but he did say that 2 up top was definitely an option and one that we're likely to see at some point in the future.

 

We've played 2 up top a number of times this season, usually if they're playing 3 at the back

 

But it's usually a 4-2-2-2 rather than a tradtional 4-4-2

Mmmmm. It's a very close run thing, but I've avoided Stanforths since one of their pies ruining a brand new expensive walking jacket I'd bought in an outdoor shop in skippy about ten minutes before.

Don't see him as back up JB. He is not a prolific goalscorer but he is one of the better target men in this division and I think Paudie will confirm, quite a handful. Adams likes this type of forward and if his play benefits our other players who can score goals, we will all be happy. As a previous poster said, not pretty but if it gets us on a level with Morecambe, Accrington and Fleetwood, who cares?

 

Where do you think he'll play? I just don't see him being first choice striker if we're only playing one - which is what I expect.

Even so, he'll get chances with Angol out and Cook not being massively reliable to play week in, week out.

 

Think we will play 2 up front in some games. Where we only play 1, I think he will be more effective than Andy as long as our other players can get up to him.

 

I'd rather stick with Cook personally.

Yes and I think Elliot's presence will help him. One thing I did notice for the short time he was on for Salford, he was always isolated but managed to buy a number of free kicks in dangerous places when he had no chance of getting the ball. Might not work with every ref though.

Cole Stockton had done nothing upto joining Morecambe but look at him now , maybe it was Adams that gave him the confidence to go out and show what he could do and maybe Elliott could go do the same. I remember Elliott playing for Wimbledon in Lg1 and him and his strike partner went on a great scoring run.
