So we missed out on a sixth tier striker who scores for fun against defenders and goalies who are plumbers, painters, bin men etc during the week and has never played a professional game in his life or trained six days a week.

Whoopifuckingdo. I'm more bothered about the lumps in my gravy this tea time.

We should be better than having to resort to players who have a one in thousand chance of being the next Jamie Vardy.

Great point and something I mentioned to Bronco last week. Rochdale play an all out style of football that's beneficial to strikers. Looks to have a similar style to Beezley so a logical move for the lad.

Funny the attitude toward a player if he does or doesn't sign. If he signs he's a young striker with potential and a point to prove, if he signs for someone else he's a non league player who probably wasn't good enough. Lol.

Good luck to the lad. Rochdale have just sold a striker , so he has probably got a better chance of football with them.
Here , he could be behind Cook , Angol, Robinson , Lavery. Also the pressure on him here will be far greater than at Rochdale.

There in a nutshell is why we probably weren't interested in him. Why would we bring a striker in to be 5th choice. We need someone ready to go straight into the side and be better than at least Lavery and Robinson

Behind Robinson and Lavery? Hell it'd be time for him to pack it in and ask for his old job back!

We'd do well to find a worse striker than Robinson and Lavery. Charman may have been playing non league but I find it hard to believe he'd be behind those two in the pecking order.

I know what you’re saying but it’s what Peterborough and other clubs do and they’ve had plenty of hits, and misses, but if you don’t try you’re not going to get the next Vardy, Wells, Toney, Assombolonga, Watkins and so on.

I don’t know anything about Charman or Kelly, but the last few seasons of signing the likes of Guthrie, Robinson, Miller, Bruenker, Clare and so on have hardly been a roaring success. Keep on with the same habit and it’s no wonder we have no success.

Why do you always bring up Ross Hannah as the blue print? Is that your only example? Plenty of teams like Posh and Brentford have done ok with NL strikers.

Vaughan, Donaldson, Doyle, McLean and many many more have come here with a good pedigree and been a disaster.

For every non league failure we have had at least 10 journeymen failures in the last 20 years.

PS - Hanson and Wells had NL backgrounds before joining us.

To be fair, Peterborough tend to pick up players who are already showing promise in league football, pay relatively high fees for them, then sell the nuggets on for large fees.

Cant recall anyone they've picked up from that low who was really successful. Like James springs to mind as an example of one they picked up from non league and dumped on us.

Find me a quote where I've previously mentioned Ross Hannah. I'll give you until the end of 2022.

For me this window if we do bring in this keeper from Ipswich, id let ROD go he's not good enough. I'd release lavery, loan out scales and kelleher, keep staunton as back up at centre back. Then go for a striker like Gnanduillet at hearts, I know he's looking to go back to France but Wrexham were trying to get him too. Then we wouldn't be so reliant on cook staying fit. If budget permits go get another right back cos Threlkeld is awful, if needs be loan out FCD to make room. Then I think we would have a real chance of promotion but can't see all that happening haha

Dagenham, who were a league two team at the time. Assomalonga they signed from Watford, and Toney from Scunthorpe. It's a myth that Peterborough take non league players regularly and turn them into multi million pound strikers.

Ok is that your go to man to shout down any potential NL striker??? Seems you are holding on to that bad experience.

Paul Taylor sold for 1m to Ipswich wasn’t he. Came from a minnow. George Boyd another possibility.
