I live in Ireland and can tell you he is a very good player. The Irish league i about lower championship level. I think if we were talking about a champoinships player we would be delighted.

What was the name of that Irish lad we nearly signed a few years ago that went to Reading? Turned out a decent player. Name completely escapes me.

    found him. Thanks T n A!

Stephen Hunt. Didn’t fancy working for Todd ha ha

Stephen Hunt (bit more than a few years ago mind).
He actually landed at LBA and then turned his phone on to find a message asking him to travel to Reading

Him and Cole. Terrible. Somehow Cole still plays at a higher level. 48 goals in his career.

Devante Cole is, pound for pound, one of the most overrated players in the game.

Barnsley signed him on a three year deal.

    He's terrible!

Even the professionals in the game seem totally blinded by his supposed pedigree, which actually is just his dad was good and he's a bit fast.

    Not really.

Every club he's been at he's complained about lack of game time, which managers pretend they like to hear, but actually the best way to make your case isn't through the media moaning that Manchester City don't care about English kids (which is why Foden, Delap and Palmer have all progressed to the first team of the best side in the country lately), or sending Daddy to talk to Phil Parkinson here at City, or talking to the media about why he isn't getting game time at Barnsley even though he feels he's been ace...

It's a tired narrative surrounding an incredibly average centre forward who doesn't need anyone blowing smoke up his arris, but who seemingly thinks he should be able to walk into any side in the country.

I've never heard a story of Devante knuckling down and redoubling his efforts and being praised by a manager for overcoming adversity, all I've ever heard is him whinging that he isn't being played as much or valued as highly as he thinks he should be.

Is he a dressing room nightmare? Probably not. But is his attitude fantastic? Only if you want an average player with an ego the size of Mount Everest buzzing in your ear every day - or failing that, summoning pops.

Think you’re getting your wires crossed. The comment was about Hiwula having an attitude problem, not Devante.

To b honest the likes of devante are living off the back of their fathers/families careers.
Jordy hiwula made his name from being in a successful u33 squad along with devante and also being able to score in numerous divisions but never being a stand out performer hence why he has been released or sold for a nominal fee throughout the league's.
Unfortunately he is not the answer nor will he ever be as he requires service from both flanks something we can't offer.
Let's embrace the quality we do have and support through thick and thin however hard it is and get out of the s@@t league we find ourselves in

I know someone who has worked with Devante. Said in 20 years of football he was the rudest and most arrogant he has ever met. His teammates despised him.

We we ever serious about Tshimanga? According to the BBC, there’s a Prem club scouting him along with Championship clubs. I suppose it’s a lot easier for them to gamble peanuts on a non league player, than us who’d have to fork out a major transfer fee to sign a player who’d come with massive expectancy. If he does get plucked for stardom, we’d (as in the general public) probably never hear of him again, Unless he does a Vardy and comes good. Or does a Rowe and goes back.
He’s had a load of clubs, twelve, and has only really found his goal scoring boots with the last three (Oxford, Boreham, Chesterfield)

With football they just dont turn up and play. They have personal issues, physical and mental, relationship stuff, time on their hands and then there is people at the club stuff you need to deal with. I know we do in our work but we dont have to go out and get clapped shouted at by groans like me . Not an excuse but Parky really worked on square leg square hole management,,,..... There is some days I cant be arsed. and I run two companies ..................

There must be some real dumb arse managers out there, all it takes is a phone call to past managers he'd played for they have nothing to lose by telling
it as it was, lazy, attitude problem, bad egg who is not the type you want with regards team bonding.

Not before time. The Dublin District League and Irish Premier produces some very good individuals.

League Two football (and higher) should be a natural step for the best of them.
