Way too much money and ambition down your neck of the woods-

Just getting used to Sutton Utd and there is Bromley, Boreham Wood,Dagenham etc,

And then there is Dorking Wanderers with a chicken head/bantam on their crest,
Formed in 1999 and are currently challenging to get into the National League,
    You know about that club?
    Very impressive

Spending money you do have wisely gives you a good chance of success. Building up debts you can’t cover can only lead to disaster

Define to me what 'money you do have' means? If I was a business looking to expand I wouldn't use my own money to do it. That's not how business works. I would borrow the money with the long term aim of making that borrowed money work for my business.

This club couldn’t borrow money the interest rates would be crippling in business you invest money which can be borrowed with a business plan and an anticipated return on the money. Football is different there is no return on your money

No one is disputing that. If you build it he will come. Speculate to accumulate. Both example of where spending money well can lead to a better result.

Fact is we have a high budget, a sustainable budget, but don't spend it well. Our problem isn't NOT spending money, it's being the living embodiment of the theory that if you buy badly you buy twice and every manager since Stuart in 2016/17 have been guilty of that, including Stuart in 17/18.

Bravo good post. did we not have one of the highest budgets in the division , during the last relegation.
Money spent so badly on the worst squad of footballers i can remember.

Peterborough are planning for a new ground. You don't think MacAnthony and his two co owners looked in their accounts to see if they could afford it. Like any business it's all risk versus reward. I'm am not advocating in any way that Bradford go out and borrow millions that wasnt the point. As a club at the moment believe it or not we are in debt to Stefan Rupp. Ticket sales and increases in commercial revenue mean this debt is sustainable. At no point do we ever have a 'clean slate', to continue to be self sufficient we either sell tickets and/or players. If we don't go up ticket sales will fall after this season and with no saleable assets to speak of for next season to follow that sustainability the budget would have to be cut

But put that money in the hands of a competent manager and you give that manager a statistically better chance of success. If you didn't nobody would spend any money. We can't deny there is a correlation between spending budgets and success.

Sparks mentioned an extremely high budget at the forum. Based against what. King Karl on here mentioned a top 7 budget which tells me it's around that mark. Other wise if it was higher you'd say top 3 or top 2 to make a statement that as a club you are spending money.

How do you know a manager is going to be a success . Over the years we have employed many, who have been successful elsewhere and complete flops here, money or not . Appointing a manager is like signing players. You never know if they will be any good at your club, you just hope you get lucky . So far our manager , with a good record behind him , is failing , with what we are told is one of the larger budgets for this division. Certainly better than the 14th position we currently sit in, with 1 win in 23 i believe.

I can't disagree with any of that. But ask a manager if he would like a £2million budget or a £3million budget what do you think he would choose? And when he says £3million why? Because if budgets don't make any difference why can't he do the same job with £2miilion?

You are full of excuses like sustainability!

If Ryan Sparks ever uses that word again he needs to resign! Joker!

It's impossible to run a car wash "unsustainably" because all of the workers are illegals who have had there passports taken off them and are made to sleep 12 to a room on mattresses (in a slum) whilst eating gruel.
