So quick to forget we had 4th highest spend in L1. Clearly covid or overspending has hit the purse strings.

To be fair it's not a bad proposition at City if you've money to invest - big existing fan base for the league and bigger potential fan base if they can get to the prem which is where the return will come in. The money in footballs changed since we were up there. The only down side to us is we aren't in a particularly fashionable area but the Parky years proved people will come if the clubs on the up.

Our football has been poor under Rupp in truth but I don't blame him that was someone else's doing he's a bit absent in terms of communication but he's put money in.

Time for a change I hope it does happen. Rupp May be hounarable but I don't think he's really got the drive or willingness to take us on a journey it's just not his thing.

The ownership element of NFTs is really flimsy at best anyway. Calling them ownership shares is essentially a marketing tactic.

Whether it's abusing fans love for the club is a value judgment, I think. I'm not offering an opinion either way, but these schemes have a track record of nurturing engagement in a brand, and providing a sense of involvement - and as far as marketing an NFT, having an emotional attachment to the source of the NFT is a good start.

With the Green Bay Packers, they sell essentially NFT 'shares' to fans that you can't even trade if you want to - and it's regarded as a successful scheme. Are their fans being exploited? I don't know, but they're happily buying them and it's an interesting revenue stream.

    Look at the final paragraph
"And our hope is that it works. There's not that much downside if it doesn't .
There may not be much downside for them but for the club it’s a different matter

He's talking about the analytics side of things.

If it works, great, if it doesn't, back to the judgement of the manager and scouts I guess.

A lot of the kickback from this does appear to be overblown. Simon Parker's article today was a masterclass in not really engaging with the subject matter, commenting purely on the surface level. Almost scaremongering levels.

We've heard time after time how we're an ambitious club and how nothing less than success would be an abject failure and then...nothing happens. It's reasonably obvious that we're relying on the fact that 'we're Bradford City, our sheer might alone will carry us where we want to go'. The gulf between expectation and reality is massive and it's impossible to see how it's going to be breached trundling along as we are.

It's also difficult to see how any conventional form of ownership is ever going to fix this. Football has changed dramatically since the days that a local businessman could turn someone like Bradford City into a team that's going to compete on a meaningful level. That basically leaves Bradford City as a white elephant, seen as a cheap asset with large potential that someone could take a punt on, and little more than that.

I think there are still massive question marks over this takeover that need answering. But to those dismissing it out of hand, what exactly are we waiting for? What's the alternative? As a club, we're literally rotting on the vine.

At our expense? You do realise where we are don’t you? Our strategy can’t get much worse, every club below us get far less gates and many above us far less as well. We are the definition of underachieving and failure. What is going on at the minute is at our expense. Only people voting with their will make people like you and those at the club wake up to just how much of a failure this club is.

My acid test is whether Rupp provides funds in the transfer window which changes our lacklustre performances and results into a genuine promotion push. If that isn't the case then I will be joining many others in questioning whether buying yet another season ticket for next season is the right thing to do. It's past the point where half baked 'promises' of promotion from Sparks will cut the mustard.

If Rupp cannot provide funds to deliver the much anticipated promotion, he serves no useful function at VP. He may as well sell up if there is an offer on the table.

Could we do any worse? I really doubt it.

Rupp is an absentee owner in the last couple of years he with the rest of us has gone through a pandemic which has been really bad for football. The fault at this club is not how much but how the money we have is used. Also the short term thinking on the football side of the club. Other clubs have used what they have much better than us. I think Ryan Sparks is doing a good job on the commercial side of the club and eventually Adams and him will get it right on the pitch although the season so far has been one of major disappointment.

You are talking about now. We have stabilised off of the pitch a little. So what?
We are a garbage side who are plummeting down the leagues since he took over and we have been saved by the Mcburnie money.

You've missed the follow on statement where they clarify that remark. It was taken out of context or rather without the rest of the information to give it context.

What Green Bay are doing is somewhat exploiting their fans but it is different. Green Bay are an actual community-owned sports team. There are 360k individual shareholders holding a combined amount of just over 5million proper tradable shares and no single person can own more than 200,000 shares (4%) so it can never come out of community ownership. As such when the team chooses to exploit the fans it's the fans choosing to exploit themselves. Most of those who will buy their NFT's will most likely already be shareholders so spending $300 on an NFT is just them investing a bit in a club the own

And also let's be honest here they are pretty unique in general. With the City only having 107k people they are a really small City by US standards, the 294th largest in the country. Yet they have sold out their 82k stadium ever since it opened in the 50's and have a waiting list of almost 140k (I've seen stories of people who have been on the list for 20 years and are nowhere near the front). That's not the kind of situation the likes of Bradford has, depending on what you count as Bradford you have between 370k and 535k yet you don't even sell out your stadium. Your support is actually really good when you look at England as a whole, not many could would get 15k in league 2 (You are like 7k above 2nd place Swindon and you would be 6th in League 1 and 13th in the Championship) but it's not at Green Bays level, it's debatable if any sports team in the world has what green bay has tbh.

So comparing the likes of Green Bay where there is no one looking to make a profit and which has a rabid fanbase that's bigger than the city they are in is a bit off. Without NFT's for you having some function it massively stinks of exploitation as you would be giving money to help the club but a decent amount of that ends up in the owners pockets

Here's a novel idea @Park bantam@Park bantam - you know when we sign a player and everyone says it's a terrible signing and you say "let's see how he plays, maybe he'll come good"

Well, how about you just give these folks a chance to explain their proposal clearly before you rush to judgements. How about that?

    ;)
