How can you get a priority ticket without being a season ticket holder ?.

I resent the idea that priority holders might be chancers . Some of them are far more noble than that. Some of them got their priority card simply so they could watch people go apoplectic with faux rage whilst claiming to be Uber fans. Let me tell you, it’s been a boon to the popcorn industry.

    Maybe because we’re shite ?
If you think Salford away is a glory day you need to give your head a wobble

I think we have to many fans who think we're miles better then we are amd because we get half decent crowds we have some devine right to be higher up the league , we've been in this league for the majority of time I've been a fan , Salford are in our league and are now at our level.

I don’t think that’s the reason we don’t get better away crowds, although some will think like that no doubt. But more our home crowds are false due to price. If we charged the going average at this level and got around 7,000 a home game, then compared it to away crowds people would actually say we have a decent following. As you say historically we have been a lower league team and lower league teams don’t get huge away followings week in week out. If we somehow get promoted this season we’ll still average more away support than anyone else in this league, not that it’s anything to brag about.

Problem is its not us as fans who bang the drum of us being a big club, it's the media and and players when they come to the club. But let's not kid ourselves here, with our stadium and the crowds we generate we are the big cheese in league 2. Unfortunately big crowds and a big capacity do not equate to success, that comes primarily from investment and available budget coupled with a mangement side that knows what they are doing.

What’s the relevance with what I said ?

I said we’ve been shite that’s why our away games ain’t better attended at the minute .

Salford away is hardly the glamour fixture what the people who have a go at priority holders over seem to think .

Salford away attracts big crowds because Manchester is a great place to drink. Tranmere will be the same for a day out in Liverpool.

Tranmere isn’t in Liverpool and nor is Salford in Manchester for that matter.
The large away following relates to distance not the drinking opportunities.
That would be like saying all games in London should be sellouts.

Thanks for that, I am well aware of the location of Tranmere, but only a knucklehead would call drinking in Birkenhead a good evening out, irrespective of the (dubious) qualities of "The Mersey Clipper" next to the ground. Liverpool has some fantastic heritage pubs, one of the best being the Crown right next door to Lime Street Station.

Birkenhead has pubs that look like they could double for the Jockey in Shameless. They might be good enough for the "white abbey branch" but not for me.

I understand what you’re saying but how easy is it to get from Liverpool centre to Birkenhead and back on public transport on a Tues night. Not exactly just a stroll across the road.

Quite easy I would say, just 5 minutes from Liverpool Central to Birkenhead Hamilton Square on the underground with services every few minutes.

The Crown great pub always call in when we get the train over . Last time went to Tranmere we called in to The Slaughter House Fenwick Street Liverpool full of Celtic Fans on a stag do . We all joined in singing we hate Leeds my Fenian mate loved it. Jumped on the train at James St Station over to The River View Pub Birkenhead great day out and we won .

Very. Ten minutes on a train from lime Street lower level that uses the tunnel. Birkenhead central to Prenton Park is a 20 minute walk
