Matt Clarke for me, such a shame about his injuries he was class... special mentions for Walsh, Schwarzer, Pickford. I always liked Mark Prudhoe as well, if only because he'd sign my season ticket every week after the warm up - got his autograph about 12 times in all my old City bumpf from when I was a kid. Him and Edinho

Not sure its one which got away. That offer after 6 months, from a premiership club. Not sure either club or player could turn down

I always forget, and therefore think that Schwarzer played way more games for us than he actually did.

Those 3 keepers we had in the prem first season were outrageously good for Bradford. Favourite keeper Tomlinson as first one I remember. Was he quite small for a keeper?

    One for the old gimmers.
    Anybody remember Alan Coombe ?
Played for us from 2002 to 2004.
Imo he was a decent keeper.

Excusable, i forget too. Shows how damn impressive he must have been to be in so many peoples lists after so few games. The amazing thing is why didn't Man City spot his talent first. There are only a few players who as soon as you see them play you know they are going way higher

As many have said Matt Clarke was ridiculously good in his brief spell with us, obviously Pickford too despite him being young I always remember his effortless huge dead ball kicks going right in the oppos penalty area where most of our previous keepers only seemed to barely hit the half way line, my personal favourite though is Tomlinson as thats when i first started watching City so it seems to stick with me more than the others.

I always thought schwartzer was bought to sell quickly, and we never intended keeping him.

Matt Clarke was a really bizarre one. His career had been nothing of note before that wonder season, then injury ruined him before he could kick on after leaving us. He must have weird feelings looking back on his career.

We've had a decent run of keepers recently. On that weekend when Doyle was playing for Ireland and rushing back to play for us the next day of the 2 of the 3 previous keepers we'd had were also involved at international level - Pickford was in goal for England and McLaughlin was on the bench for Scotland. And sandwiched in between that lot we had Ben Williams who managed to break the club record for clean sheets in a season.

But back on topic, my favourite is/was Tommo.

I loved goalies growing up , i always played in goal . So Johnathan Gould , Darren ward , Combe , prudhoe , Walsh , Henderson , clarke , Mark Schwarzer even Eric Nixon I think form blackpool ? We’re my hero’s . Not sure they was all brill but always have fond memories of them . We’ve had some class keepers over the years . Them old (94-98 ? ) mental keeper kits were brilliant too . I even remember carl shutt playing in goals one game , possibly against wolves ?

The single best goalkeeping performance I've ever seen from a City keeper was Schwarzers debut. Unreal performance.

My favourite is probably Matt Clarke. As good as a several England keepers we've seen over recent years.

Three keepers who, whilst not being the best keepers, are worthy of a mention:

Scott Loach, who incidentally played against us recently for Chesterfield, I seem to recall was excellent.

Rhys Evans had a real purple patch for us and if it hasn’t been for financial issues, would have surely been offered a contract at the end of that season.

Aidan Davison, seem to recall had a long spell in goal for us at one point and was excellent.

But overall my favourites have been the same as others - Tomlinson, Walsh, and Schwarzer.

Downsborough is getting a lot of mentions on the thread but he pre-dates me unfortunately so I can’t comment.

(ps No mentions for Peter Lichfield I see!)

Nor Zabica, who spilled one in front of the Kop vs Sunderland. Think we got bashed 4-0 by Quinn and Phillips.

They scored four goals on four visits to Valley Parade with those two, Nicky Summerbee also being a big part of those results.
