There were many better players than Hanson, Ravenhill, Thompson, Atkinson, Connell, and Hines, but they all went up under PP.

Replacing them with more talented players wouldn't guarantee we'd do better. More important that they suit the manager and his MO.

i read that Cook was on £4000 a week at Mansfield. Another player who's Income is going to be dramatically reduced, or finish up unemployed. Not many clubs in the lower division's can afford that sort of outlay on a single player ,except Salford.

 

Not sure why you're throwing Ravenhill, Atkinson, Connell and Hines in there but I do agree with the point you're making.

Imagine though, a player that suits the managers style AND is more talented? That's where we need to be looking.

Well he has just finished a season where he has lead the line for a team that just missed out on the autos and managed hopefully by the manager who wants to sign him so unless he has death wish I wouldn’t know any reason why Adams would want to sign him if he is no good

It’s obvious that Adams got the best out of players that we were unable to probably why we want him as manager. But the signing of players is down to the manager who has worked with Stockton all season and if he thinks he will fit in to a side aiming for promotion and he has achieved that four times so be it. As for Stockton himself I know nothing about him I hadn’t even heard of him until the speculation started. The whole thing might be nonsense any way

 

We will be signing at least three strikers so probably fit both in as for who is the better player Cook has a better record by far but I have seen little of Stockton to make a judgment the incoming manager has.

To be honest the forward is the most important position and we can just be signing Stockton for the hell of it. He has to be good enough for Bradford City and where we want to go.
