    It's not easy to predict anything with this virus, but I think we'll be looking at around 50% of seated capacity at the start of the season.

    This Indian variant could have a big say on what the government decide going forward if the vaccine is as good as they say it should allow more easing, watching the Lincoln game tonight at one side of the ground looked very full and hardly social distancing.
    The government have to lower their guard and allow us back to as near normality as possible, call it herd immunity if they want as most of the vulnerable with have been vaccinated.

    Recent reports indicate that the AZ vaccine is 97% effective on the Indian variant and that whilst it spreads faster its no more dangerous than any of the others. If we achieve "full" vaccination by the en do July there is no reason to believe it is a bigger threat than the kent one

    Don't forget, on the current government timetable, 'full' vaccination (two jabs, 8 weeks apart) won't be acheived until the end of September, although I think it might be more like mid-September. That said, I would expect us to reach some sort of population('herd') immunity before then.

    Increased transmissability does impact on the threat that the variant carries; however, as you say, it does seem that the vaccines remain highly effective against B.1.617.2 so, hopefully, this variant will not significantly impact the roadmap back to 'normality'.

    I still remain very hopeful that City's opening home league match will be in front of a decent sized crowd; I am less confident that we will see away fans admitted, at least in the early part of the season.

    I think realistically, in order to ensure everyone is as safe as they can be from Coronavirus variants, it's best to keep stadiums shut and everyone can continue to watch from home in a Covid-secure environment.

    The club can and will still earn a considerably amount of money from i-Follow.

    A Return to VP for me today! (Wore my mask)
    Car park full maybe driving awareness course taking place ? Walked up to Manningham Lane a shed as been erected named City Chaii not sure on that if it opens match days. Carried on to Bar Italia
    It’s changed to Tony’s Pizza ( 12 inch ) quite rustic needed an interpreter though.
    Good news though today got my ticket for Lawkholme Lane on Sunday Northern Terrace Cougars v Rochdale Hornets
    Maybe a while before I get back to VP.

    As long as is necessary. Containing a deadly virus is more important than going down to VP and mixing with potentially unvaccinated carriers of COVID.
