You're right Fordy but we didn't get the best out of him because unlike Richie Wellens and the Bolton management this season our manager(s) hadn't got a clue how to use him. With the right system he will always get goals.

 

Well, true. But what I mean is, the further up the leagues you go, the more it matters that you can control a game by what you do with the ball.

You can get promotion in this league with a shit midfield. I don't think you can say the same in the higher leagues.

 

That's pretty much the only way we could possibly score is by then giving us something.

 

This match is exactly the same as our games versus Cambridge or others in that run.

We created almost nothing but scored every chance and we gave no chances away.

That's exactly what Morecambe have done in this match.

 

Then each relegated club from the Premier, Championship and league one could make the same case, poor argument.

Southend chairman Ron Martin said it was "fundamentally against the pyramid system" to allow promotion from the National League but not relegation.

But isn't that the same thing he's hoping for in league 2? Promotion but no relegation?! Seems a bit of hypocrisy...
