New Coach - Michael Collins

Well ill say lets be positive and give the guy a chance..... however wow. 6 weeks and its the guy who had a desk at the other end of the office....

I pride myself on being stupidly positive but even I am struggling with this.... who is he again?

All well and good Collins acknowledging he needs to win us over, he does, but it's certainly not his fault. We could have put this team in place immediately after Grayson left, but no, almost 7 weeks of hyping up and debate over who would be the new HC and we've been done over. See how the rest of the summer goes in terms of recruitment but my expectations of the new season are at an all time low.

 

I've got a lot if respect for him after he's clearly made that decision. I wouldn't want my name associated with this move either.

6 weeks with people's chins on the floor waiting for a anouncment to give us a boost then this....

 

Of course I will support the new coaching team and I want them to do well, but it’s the fact that we’ve waited seven bloody weeks for an appointment that realistically could’ve been done the moment Grayson left the building. So much for “how can we sign new players when we don’t even have a manager”, they were already there!

I wish Michael Collins well, he is going to need it. Gets off to a slow start and it will become very toxic at VP.
Either the owners have lost their marbles completely or they have spotted a genius coach in the making, time will tell

Yep, apologies @Bronco @Onside @Faithful Bantam @BoingBoing and anyone else I've tried to cajole along with my optimism. Just couldn't believe this could happen. Ugh.

Absolute shambles. Seems every other coach worth their salt told Edin to stick his model up his arse which left him no other choice. This is literally one step away from Edin appointing himself as head coach. I sincerely hope I’m wrong I really do but this season already looks like it’s got relegation battle written all over it. The owners just haven’t got a clue, it’s really very sad.

 

I think this is the only way you can look at it. Absolutely no point in turning against them before they've even started but as a first role he's straight into the lion's den. Massive gamble for him if he wants to make a career out of it.

I do wonder what it is that's convincing Greg to stay on board...

 

No point getting so worked up about it, at least judge after a ball is kicked. See how the recruitment goes, which if we’re honest has probably been better than we were expecting for mid June and then turn up to the first game of the season in good voice and get behind them. Our last coaching team with this little experience did okay and there was a renegade chairman in charge then too! Turned out okay for a couple of seasons at least
