Teams not as good as our recent form implies. Defensively we are great and it's carrying this team, but the attack was wasteful and uncreative going forward - especially Vernam who thinks he's Mbappe and wastes anything given to him

 

They deserve their praise recently but against Bolton and tonight highlight that they have a lot to learn.

Jumping around happy with a point at home to Bolton then sitting on a 1-0 against Newport.

Honestly, need to sort their mindset out if they want to be here long term. Poor.

 

Didn't really create chances for Cook and Rowe when we were bossing the early second half then a lazy tackle from Cook and Sutton hand ball gifting a poor newport all the points.

I'm never glad we lose, but a reality check might ms needed. Our back 4 have been outstanding of late, but the other areas of the team, and elements of our approach, need to improve.

Well we truly f**ked that up

 

To get beat by our own stupidity is a tough one to take. That, for 75 mins was probably the most comfortable we’ve been in a long time. What Cook was doing back there for the free kick is anybody’s guess and as for Sutton, I can only put that down to exhaustion. He just wasn’t thinking right.
Reset and go again.

 

Insipid. It's creeping into our performances. Defensively look fine but it's just lacking something extra in that final third.

Trouble is that’s all we do sit on leads, against Walsall we got away with it as the ref turned a pen down then against Mansfield they missed an absolute sitter at the end. Eventually it’ll catch up with you. Hopefully it’s just tiredness and the week off does us good.

 

Well that was a result all of our own making. We were completely on top until we gave away another stupid free kick in a dangerous area.
I said ahead of the Bolton game that if we came up against a dead ball specialist we'd be punished. And so it turned out tonight.
We then handed them.the initiative they didn't deserve. Which resulted in the panicy play which resulted in the penalty.

Sorry @Park bantam but that was completely our own *@?$ up. We were totally in control until Cooks stupid foul. After that we went to custard. Newport didn't deserve to win. We handed it to them on a plate
