Initially thought their goal was offside, but from the replays think it’s on.

Their lad Lee dominated the game- breaking up play and keeping the ball moving (reminded me of Cullen)- Watt could do worse than look at him and learn a couple of things. They also had a couple of quality players on the wings. If anything, I think they are let down by Doyle and the lack of presence he offers.

Happy with a point after a tired performance- agree with what some have said that we should maybe look to rest a couple like Cooke and vernam on Tuesday.

No Fordy is right about this, we need a winning mindset. All this bigging up Bolton, yes they will feel like it is 2 points dropped after going ahead so late in the game but for all their possession Triang only had one other save to make.
To me we looked a bit overawed by them today and let them press us too much. Apart from their West Ham loanee man for man we are better than Bolton but to prove that you have to be mentally strong. Having said all that we still managed to salvage a draw from today because we now have quality throughout the whole squad.

On balance Bolton knocked us out of our stride And were the better team. The amount of ball they were first to in midfield particularly in the second half was a concern. However this version of city don’t chuck it in. I didn’t expect and equaliser based on what has gone on before however Rowe and Cook show what goal scorers can do. The fact that we played poorly or weren’t allowed to play yet can still get a point is very encouraging. This point will be even bigger if we can back it up on Tuesday.

The Don was behind AOC, it'd be pretty clear if CD touched it before AOC.

Either way I agreed with your original point that CD made another positive contribution.

I don't think it was about us being risk averse. We didn't sit deep in the first half. I just think our midfield were totally knackered and didn't have the legs to play a higher line. And whenever we tried to break out we hit tired passes straight to them and invited the pressure again.
Hopefully Evans is fit for Tuesday to add to midfield options.
I'd play Rowe in Cooke's position - he desperately needs a rest.

I dont normally leave games early but i walked out of the room to go and do a bit of plumbing i needed to finish, when Bolton scored. My lad came to find me after the game had finished and said 1-1 . I told him where to go.
That will teach me to have a lack of faith, but watching city for 40+ years does that to you.
I would have taken the point at kick off and that is nothing to do with a lack of ambition.
onwards and upwards, bring on Newport. This team don't know when they are beaten.

I don't get how some of our fans are saying we didnt deserve anything from the game.

Surely the fact we defended so well yet again contradicts this?.

I think there's no doubt in that Botswana. Two games a week, week in week out, is a bloody tough ask for the fittest of players, both physically and mentally. The EFL are being bloody useless as usual in not looking after players, and extending the season a little. But...all the other teams we'll be playing in the next couple of months are in the same boat - and we now have a stronger and deeper squad than most.

Had it been the other way round...I dare say you'd be claiming that we'd been robbed of two points....as would most City fans.

I am not sure where your midfield lads have come from but for us Lee and Williams have both played at a higher level, them coming in in Jan has been them coming in.
Not sure who does your stats but your keeper made a good save early in second half and another with his legs in a scramble so with the goal that is 3. Doyle's missed header was poor.
It is all about goals and working the keeper, and although we had more ball Gills had already made a great save.
Was surprised by our two late subs, not sure we needed a winger and another centre forward.

Yes I loved AOC's reaction to the equaliser, says a lot about the team spirit and his commitment to the cause.

For me it's the way we stopped playing and retreated into our half from 60/65 minutes.
They kicked on and we retreated.

I feel we could have got at them if we'd tried to attack but we went to our preferred counterattacking approach.

BTW, Connor Wood speaks well - think he said it right when he said we were sloppy and could have attacked more second half.

Don’t disagree about a wining mindset but that doesn’t mean you can’t celebrate a last minute equaliser!

As you say even though a point was a good result in the end, we looked to have defended Doyle's effort unfortunatly it deflected for Delfouneso to chest in which had an element of luck about it but there was not doubt about Rowe's strike.

Their left winger Isgrove, was quality. Thank goodness (as much as I think he's a promising player) FCD wasn't starting. As much as we give him sh!t because of the armband situation, AOC did a good job today. But talking of FCD, I think our management duo will now have to start thinking of rotation soon, as we did look leggy - particulary our workhorses in midfield. Cooke was totally off it, Watt played some dreadful passes, and Sutton despite being his industrial self, wasn't as impactful as he normally is. Very happy to get the draw, didn't think there deserved to be a winner today. Seems strange to be delighted with a draw at home, but as others have mentioned, this Bolton team were the best we've faced in a while, and in my view, the first who have actually took the game to us.

Onwards and upwards. As Stuart would say (bless his cotton socks watching this run at home on the box) "We go again!".

Your team played well. Defo one of the better teams we've played recently alongside Exeter.

Keep playing as you are and you should be top 7.

Good luck for the rest of the season.
