Not gonna get lots of chances .Can’t keep giving possession away so easily.

 

In think we've done okay over the last ten minutes.

 

Yes. Definitely settled down after the first 15 minutes where we were slow and not following their runners.

 

Starting to stretch them a bit. I like that Crankshaw is looking up and not just going down the line.

 

We've got back into the game now.

Stats can be misleading as you know. Bolton were using the ball better and finding space.

 

Callum cooke not been his best so far, few sloppy passes

 

Wood looking more and more the weak spot in our defense

 

Solid half. Would like to see Clarke for Vernam early on to try and get a foot on the ball in the final third.

 

They had the best of the first 15 mins then we came back into it well. Last ten a bit scrappy.

We've not been as decisive as them with the ball attacking. They've were crisper at the start but seem to have dropped off with passing accuracy.

We need to play with the ball looking forwards. We're too often holding up the ball or have our back to goal and the next pass is backwards.

 

High intensity but low quality game so far, not a shot on target between either team and we keep passing it back to each other. I’d be happy enough with a draw though but with a bit more quality no reason we can’t win.

 

Totally agree. “Very entertaining game”. Imo it’s been very scrappy with not much quality. Keepers had any saves to make? Don’t think so.

Wonder if Bolton might think about bringing Doyle on in the second half..lol..

 

He's the opposite of Anthony O'Connor. O'Connor is probably the better defender but Wood is more comfortable with the ball and passing and attacking. O'Connor always looks a bit lost when he has too much time and if he can't put a cross in he becomes indecisive.

 

Would like to see Crankshaw and Vernam swap sides for a bit.

Started where we left off on Tuesday. Can't beat their press and giving the ball away far too easily. Midfield looks tired and they're winning all the loose duels in there. Work to do.

 

A drab affair, with a distinct lack of quality from both teams. Can't remember either keeper making a save.

Been honest this has 0-0 all over it.

But reading this board you'd think Bolton were all over us. Maybe I'm watching a different game?

 

I won't deny that Bolton look dangerous, they've perhaps been a touch sharper and more composed in possession, but we haven't been battered at all. There's nothing in it.

Main message at HT - calm the f**k down when we've got the ball. We've been careless with it at times.

A half of football played at much higher intensity and tempo than most L2 games. Fair play to both.

Whatever happens in the second half, I think we've shown that if we're in L2 next season we have an excellent base with which to make the finishing touches to be a top side next season.
