Honestly believe, sensible pricing together with a challenging, good team on the pitch will determine the number of fans in the ground. If we reduced prices to £100 for next season, we wouldn't get close to the average of 18167 you state....

I believe you were the one who put the inflation calculator up yesterday Dave and it got me think more about this subject than I’d bothered to before, with inflation wages of both on and off the field staff will have gone up(obviously) so the product should as well, like a lager in a pub has on the last 10 years for instance. I believe the figure was £183? I think £179 would be a good place to start, and hopefully with success small increases over the next few years to get us more in line with our competitors but not effecting numbers through the gate. All possible with a good product and strong marketing campaign, in fact we may get more through eventually if they see paying that bit more brings about a better chance of success.

As for affordability which people are chucking around on here, we are way below the affordability line. Affordability isn’t what every single person can afford, if it were by that logic we’d have to sell tickets for a loaf of break as there’s families who can’t afford a weekly shop at Aldi(very affordable supermarket). Affordability is how your product compares to your competitors, we could sell them for £250 and still be affordable in comparison to many in the FL, I’m in no way condoning that price increase in league 2 it’s for point sake. A Vauxhall is an affordable car, but not to everyone for example.

 

We'd had 4 years of season on season sucsess so your right I would not expect anything like those attendances, there are many things to consider not the least what were going through and how the future will pan out.
I forfeited the £30+ from last season but I will not be forfeiting our suite upgrades, I would hope as we have not been able to take advantage of them we will be getting a refund, time will tell.

I'm with you with regards your affordability comment, I'm lucky I can and will pay what the club deems watching football Valley Parade is worth but I cant and won't condemn anyone who doesn't for what ever reason.

In the greater good of my love for Bradford City, I have decided to waive any right to a refund for my suite upgrade

 

Bradford isn’t a wealthy City but if the product is right people will pay. We had plenty of season tickets sold at round about £300 in the late 90s and Bradford was no richer then, and look at the queue for Chelsea tickets in the FA cup at £30 a go plus travel to London and we sold 6000 in no time and thousands more were disappointed. In this league they need to be cheap,but I’m sure people will pay for a better product if and when we move up the leagues.

 

Yes I did and I think the compound inflationary amount came out at c£186. Affordability is an issue for a fair few and as a club, we have to be careful when pricing STs. But, should their be a trade off.... Losing further support by increasing prices (c50% down in 4 years) or having a reduced pot to spend on players wages.

I guess if we had 7k of full paying adults in the 20/21 season and increased to say £175 for next season, to break even, we would have to flog 6k at the higher price bracket. Could we as a club, freeze junior tickets for a further season to assist families whom come to VP?

Price increases will not be popular but surely with declining attendances, cost on the rise... Surely a season ticket increase, is inevitable?
