I don’t know the breakdown but 11 in 31 is a decent total overall he has 4 assists this season as well the same as Clarke

 

Clarke has played right side of the 3 behind the striker since T and S took charge.
Novak played the 10 role behind Donaldson at Tranmere.
I don't see any player losing their places, just that now we have more options to freshen things up when needed or chances to change formations especially at home.

 

Id say we’ve our business well and early this window! What are peoples thoughts, another winger perhaps?

 

Perfect situation for me is another striker, a left winger and a CDM. We might get 1 maybe 2 of this but I think if we fill them positions it sets us up lovely for second half of the season.

 

I definitely think there will be a left sided midfielder and if we have injuries a loan striker and that will be it for this window unless anybody else moves out

 

Think we will probably get a CM and a left sided attacker who can mainly play left wing but could cover up front if needed.

Just in terms of registration, we are up to 20 registered squad members now. Only space for two more players over the age of 21. We have two loan slots available too.

Next season it drops from 22 registered players to 20, so if this was next season we'd be operating at a one out one in policy by this point onward. Very interesting summer, a lot of the player out of contract probably wont sign unless they take a big pay cut like O'Donnell did this past summer. National League and Scottish leagues didn't have any salary rules in place this season and it doesn't look like they'll bring them in, so players could hold out to see if their agents can find them more cash to play in none league or over the border.

 

And that just goes to show how daft a salary cap is.

 

On paper Canavan and Rowe are decent signings, and the outgoings have been good, but let’s be honest, none of us know how Burrell, Foulds, Huffer and Stevens are going to get on, so to say we’ve done good business is stretching it a bit. We could start tomorrow with Burrell and Rowe with Donaldson on the bench. It could go badly, it could go well.

If Novak is out long term, another striker, winger and competition for Sutton is a minimum. Even if there are no more Covid or weather postponements, it’s two games a week every week now. There are going to be more injuries.

 

The statement was at Christmas the beginning of the window was to come out stronger don’t think there is any doubt that has already happened with two experienced players who we have payed money for.
As for Foulds and the loans they are replacing players who weren’t contributing so they can’t possibly be worse.
With a decent left midfielder and possibly another striker in before February 1st and it has to be as good as anything in January from the past

 

Is Novak injured then? Has it been confirmed?

 

He is a doubt for tomorrow so I would say Yes. The extent of it is the question

Hopefully if he's only a doubt, that means he's close to fitness. Thank goodness it's not a case of Donaldson and/or Samuels, I say...

 

We asked about the availability of McAleny but it was rejected by Oldham. I really hope we go back in for him.

Cardwell on tv tonight vs Wolves in the FA Cup. I liked the look of him last time out vs Derby's youngsters. Will be interesting how he copes against a top club tonight. If he does well, I suspect he might get snapped up. In my opinion, he looks just what we want. No nonsense, big strapping centre forward, with age on his side.

 

If you're bringing 3 in then you need to get one out as @Jordan explains or at least 1 of the 3 needs to be under 21.

 

I bet Bury fans feel the same.

Have a look at his stats. They're absolutely horrendous for a centre forward.

 

Dieseruvwe of Salford City. 11 Games and 4 Goals this season. Not played in the last few games for Salford and out of contract at the end of the season.

I see him as more of a target man who sets up goals. Most set pieces are set up for him.
