Really hope not, He is a serial failure at every club he has been at, Could understand Junior making this mistake but surley not Sparky, More years in the doldrums if this is true

Now I dont think the next manager is on that list ? Infact I'd go further and say he is not currently in the country ? ! Rupp might not be a football man but pretty sure he has grown tierd of the revolving door of British coaches coming through the door and now might be the time when he looks closer to his home for the next coach. Also if he does he would widen the market for potential recruits in the January window ? Which is bound to be fairly limited to free agents and young loan signings. I would not rule out Rahic having some part to play because like it or not ? I dont think Rupp will be completely blanking him in Germany ? .

So the next Manager may well be a German possibly one after a project ? . Hannes Wolfe is a name thats come up from time to time but how about David Wagner ex TBs and Schalke 04 knows the area might fancy getting back to the English scene and rebuilding a club of this potential from rock bottom ?

As Ryan Sparks said in his interview not until after the manager has been unveiled

Wasn’t he a success at Grimsby and Shrewsbury and part of a club cutting back at Scunthorpe? I’m not bothered if we get him but trying to be balanced about him

Thats a god awful appointment if so ? Dreadful record at Ippo and Scunny. The contacts I have at Scunny could not get the bloke out the door fast enough. Shocking football and clueless was the gist of it. Defintely taking us down to Non League if Hurst turns up. I will take his Dad Geoff first !

Failed at Ispwich yes. But, they were on the decline before. Failed at Scunthorpe so did SMc. He has had success at Grimsby and Shrews. It could be a master stroke of an appointment just give him time and get behind him.

Doesn't really matter who we get, there is very little corellation between managers and success. Just because a manager is poor at one club doesn't mean he won't be a success elsewhere. As long as the candidate has a self belief that ties in with Sparks and Rupps plans then we might start to go forward.

He’s probably got a better record than most teams sat in 21st in division 4 could hope to attract, who were people seriously thinking it would be? He’s had 2 good spells, then a poor one when he failed to make the step up to the championship followed by a spell at a fellow car crash club which didn’t last long.

    Grimsby

Was in the conference as joint manager and got them promoted to the football League

    Shrewsbury

A point earned in a 1−1 draw away at Swindon Town lifted the club out of the League One relegation places, albeit on goal difference only, for the first time since Hurst was appointed on 7 January 2017.[32] Shrewsbury finished the campaign in 18th place, three places and two points clear of the final relegation place occupied by local rivals Port Vale.[33]
    Ipswich

Under Hurst, Ipswich made a very poor start to the season, winning just one of their opening 14 games and losing on penalties to League Two side Exeter City in the EFL Cup. Hurst was sacked on 25 October 2018 following a 2–0 defeat at Leeds United with Ipswich bottom of the table. He had been in charge for just under five months, the shortest reign of any manager in the club's history.
    Scunthorpe
On 13 May 2019, Hurst was announced as manager of Scunthorpe United.[38] Hurst was sacked by Scunthorpe on 29 January 2020 after eight months in charge.

I'd take David Wagner like a shot but he's out of our league.

You’ve literally cut out that he lead Shrewsbury to the playoff final the year after, massively over achieving in the process :joy:

It is where you finish not where you start in Football, Sometimes Managers inherit good players then mess it up!!

Uninspired by Hurst. Seems to just bounce from job to job lately and is poor wherever he goes.
Guess that’s our level now but he wouldn’t be my number one
