John Dreyer and Mick Wood are the two best left sided centre halves of my years watching City.
Sorry about all the looking back but that's what bad times do to you, it's like a marriage going wrong.

 

In our 2nd season in the Premier League Richmond did a Rahic on us but on a much bigger scale with terrible consequences but boy life was fun under him in the 90s.

Great that he says his time at City were some of his happiest in football, even though he wasn’t here long.

 

Was that the night we beat Chelski - at home 2-0. IIRC we were 6th in the league after that game. Carboni was sublime that night.

Posted this story before, we were in The Arkle for a good few hours pre-match proudly showing our colours, a few Liverpol fans approached us and soon enough there was a group of about 20 or so taking the mickey nothing nasty.
They were predicting a spanking that afternoon I said like the last game we played you, not only beating you but stopping Liverpool make the Champions League that result allowed Leeds United to go through.
As you say great game it looked like we wcould be a lower mid table side especially when we turned Chelsea over 2 -0 at Valley Parade the following Tuesday night, unfortunatly it was mostly down hill from there.

 

That day we played Sunderland away in our first season I couldnt make the game at their place and listened on Pennine ?. hearing Sunderland were all over us when Dreyer scored (from a corner) ? the rest of the game was backs to the wall but came away with 3 very valuable points.

 

They were great times so many ups and downs, the Hull game at their place police giving us the home end, the following season winning our last game against QPR to stay up.
The following season another struggle Jewell taking over from Kammy, and just staying in league one the next season has to be up there with the best memories, with that heart stopping game with Wolves, straight home and down to my local club to get hammered, good times that make our present times bearable.
