McCall IN/OUT (with new Poll)

Stuart has had a boomerang relationship with
City as a player and manager.

He went when Rahic was in charge and who could blame
him but now he's back for a third term has he been
backed as we would of hoped?

The stakes are different.We know he loves the club and
probably wants to succeed as he may not get another
job in management and certainly not at City.

To succeed you need to invest in players and we have not
done that.It seems to me he may of gone along with
being told what you've spent is all that Rupp is prepared
to spend and you must make do.I can't get my head round
Stuart saying he is "happy" with the squad when there is
money available to strengthen if required.It just doesn't
make sense.

I certainly was underwhelmed with the quality we had and
thought it was nowhere good enough to get promotion or
even the play offs. I thought this difficult time was an
opportunity to invest and get out of this league when others
might not of been able to do it.

 

We're systematically broken. I can't point to a single key feature of the club that works well. Not one.

 

I would not disagree with that statement but there are only two of the positions that the club can actually control at this point. CEO and the management team.

Do what we can do now. Rupp, the owner, becomes a bit of a non issue if those two, CEO and management team are of the right calibre.

The CEO question is being worked that leaves the management team.

But we are stalling and stalling. Procrastination.

It is clear and has been for a long while now that the McCall and Black team is not working, it didn't work at Scunthorpe and we have seen no improvement here since his arrival.

We need to rip that plaster off now and clear the deck for a new team.

 

I think Stuart’s been on a leash from the start, he has had no funds from the word go. When he took over he had no funds to improve the contracts of the players he wanted to keep and going forward he has had to buy sub standard players. But and a real big but is, why did you take the job when you knew about the funding or and I can’t imagine why you didn’t ask and just grabbed at the opportunity?
I don’t think the answer is to sack Stuart because we will just be in the same mire again.
Please, please fund this club properly Mr Rupp or walk away and we will pick up the pieces as we have in the past, just don’t keep doing what you are doing because the people that love this club from top to bottom are so tired and sick to the stomach of this.

 

Agreed but that is not a reason to keep a failing manager.

We won't be able to co-ordinate CEO, Owner and Manager changes to come all together and a disinterested owner is not an issue as long as we have a committed CEO, a strong management team and the owner is willing to support those elements which from all that we can see he has done to date.

So let's put Rupp aside and get the CEO and Management team sorted.

 

Dont get this notion that McCall has not been backed. He has been backed just as much as most clubs in our league, indeed, he has openly said that he didnt spend all the budget entrusted to him

 

The Thing to get your head round is that Stuart is the wrong man to manage the club, He has none of the managerial or tactical qualities needed to be a football manager much as he wants to be one

You’re right that Rupps position can not be controlled, but he is the biggest problem and why we are in trouble. The reason the manager and CEO appointments have been so poor fall on his head, it has been failure after failure in each role since he arrived, it won’t be a non issue as history and the present suggest we won’t get the other two positions right until he leaves.

 

So we are agreed. The management team are poor. It was a poor decision. So let's get it sorted.

 

And the worst bit is that despite the fact
that he’s been given the massive amount of slack based solely on past playing career even some of his most devout backers (with the odd exception)are seeing this season for what it is.A massive shit show that’s still rescuable but needs major decisions to be made quickly before it’s too late.

 

Yes I believe I covered it in my original post when I said the club needs gutting from top to bottom.

 

So, let me get this clear. You agree that McCall should be shown the door?

Please don't do a Trump on me and become all elusive by widening it to cover other areas.

Stuart needs more time. Why is everyone concerned with instant results? We have had 5 previous managers with less than 50 games each. The last manager who got over 50 games was Stuart himself. Why at the 6th time of asking do people think we will suddenly become good again. Do people not realise that there is no silver bullet to fix this club?

 

Yes Stuart needs more time, he needs another assistant, he needs an experienced man to help him, he needs a chairman who backs him, he needs more support from Width of a post. NOoo he is a very mediocre manager who is clueless in the transfer market and if he was anyone else he’d be drummed out like Bowyer. Get real he’s a lovely bloke but will never succeed here, we need to forget this McCall love in that people have and move on, there are many better options out there.
