We have agreed many times in the past and I'm sure again in the future, I believed your comment to be aimed at fellow posters on here not twitter or the like.
But I'll repeat what has happend since the closed season can't be dismissed or maybe it can some obviously think its a few mischief makers on the old C&B board and containing on here.

Petrov, if the things the reporter said are untrue then state them, dont ask for the reporter to name names.

simple answer from a good PR team would be,

NO ONE HAS TURNED US DOWN AS NO ONE HAS BEEN GIVEN THE OPPORTUNITY TO DO SO.

simples.

Dont ask for names thats a pathetic response to try and win a debate that has already passed. (printed)

Just arrived in Shipley for a long weekend ........... and hopefully 'nearer' the truth ! Who knows, by the time I'm back in S Yorks on Monday evening, we'll all be much wiser ? I know...... over optimistic !

 

I agree that would have been a better response but I disagree the response put out was pathetic. They seem to be damned if they do and damned if they don't at the minute.

 

I don’t criticise the club for responding to the article, but it comes across as defensive and confrontational. I would have used the tweets to be on the fron foot. Along the lines of:

Our recruitment is taking longer than we anticipated, but we are making progress, and our fans need to know we are working hard and in unison to get the right person for this great club.

The Daily Mail, has written an article which has a number of inaccuracies, which is disappointing, but understandable as they have not spoken to our media team. We would be happy for them to contact us, so they can amend their perception of what is happening in our pursuit of a first clas head coach.

 

Its a pathetic and weak response of someone who has IT skills at GSCE level.

 

In the clubs defence - a public spat with a leading newspaper is a terrific way to get people to stop talking about the fact yet another week is about to end without us having appointed a head coach.

 

This would be a diplomatic response deemed in my view very good however my response I feel would just open and close the case of calling bullshit, if it indeed was ;-)

Although if the mail was right...

But the fact is somebody might have turned us down, that's life. People turn down job roles. Why would they say that nobody has turned the job down?

The issue is people are saying everyone's turned the job down because of Edin being an evil dictator and then a daily mail article confirms everything.

I have dealt with the media before, never ever get into trying to answer or justify allegations it just comes across as defensive. Oh I am quite sure someone has turned us down, so they couldn’t use your very honest and direct approach lol.

 

If they had said

NO ONE HAS TURNED US DOWN AS NO ONE HAS BEEN GIVEN THE OPPORTUNITY TO DO SO.

Then that stops the debate! Unless the mail knows otherwise which is more likely to be the case so we get a weak counter argument of my daddy is bigger than your daddy type of reply.

 

If the daily mail is now being regarded as a bastion of truth then this world has descended further than ever thought possible
