I think one of the reason the game is in two months is to give the league time to actually conduct the investigation and the disciplinary.

Don't think so Storck, the rearranged game between Grimsby and Chelteham is next Tuesday as I understand.

 

Nothing to do with that - have you seen our fixture list? I'm struggling to see how they could have fitted it in any earlier without it meaning we'd be playing 3 games in one week.

I apologise if it caused offence but I assumed by the remark 'see what bloody Holloway thinks of that', that you would have seen his video rant, and will therefore have been aware he told Billy Clarke to 'shut up Bill'. My response telling you to 'shut up Grumpy' was completely in jest and I thought would have been taken in good humour. Sorry if it was misinterpreted.

I think Grimsby were not planning on starting the league so in terms of squads, training etc they are a month behind others. They also have contracts which result in players not being paid if season cancelled. Let’s just say Grimsby more so than other teams have an incentive to cancel games and coincidentally that’s just what has happened

I hope I explained the context in my explanation. It was a joke based on what Holloway said to Clarke.

 

I watched most of there game yesterday against Salford and although they were mainly on the back foot they looked like they could snatch a goal, I mentioned they could not even fill their bench yet still completed the fixture as required, great point with all their troubles let's hope we dont get the virus amongst the squad.

 

I have nothing against Grimsby or any other football team.
I just think there was something fishy , pardon the pun, deciding to call off the game with 1 player, who actually is on loan to another club , testing positive with covid. I understand that he does train with you part of the week but why did his loan team continue to play thier games, as have lots of clubs with more than one player infected.
I also think there needs to be more clarity from the efl on this kind of scenario. I just think your club used this to their advantage.

This season Grimsby are not fantastic at home, currently 20th in the table on home form. I do genuinely think we have found a formation that suits the players really well. Also helps that they have conceded the 2nd most goals in league two at 30. I am feeling another 1-0 or 1-1 draw myself, 2-0 to us if we are clinical.

 

How’s Hanson doing haven’t heard much about him lately

 

Had a read of their local newspaper and it seemed to read like they started fast/well, got ahead and then played out a 1 niller. Got that impression from both the Grimsby and Scunthorpe managers comments.

So, another good start is needed here I think and I think we should caution against many/any changes even if a couple were looking a bit leggy towards the end of the game. It was noticeable that Samuels didn't always track his runner back when he came on. We need the subs to have the same work ethic as the starters.
