Well he didn’t say exactly that did he.. you asked if Grayson was going to be soley in charge of transfers and he commented saying Grayson has said most clubs operate with a chief scout manager and the guy signing the cheques

He said the transfer committee (Greg, Edin and Stuart) for want of a better word got together and made the decision between themselves how plain does he need to say it ?.
Here Simon Parker blog from the night of my question :
    7:20pm
GA: "The only one Stuart didn't know about was Tyrell Robinson. Told him a bit of a fib that he could play left back as well - I got that one right!"

    7:19pm
GA: "This transfer committee is just a terminology that crept into the game. It's the same as 50 years ago.

"We try to look for players within the budget we can spend. We know roughly what we're allowed to spend on a right back/centre forward..."

    7:17pm
ER: "Would it be right to sign Gordon Greer on the biggest salary of all the defenders? No.

"But we always discussed the players together we wanted to sign."

    7:17pm
ER: "How can you sign players without speaking to the manager? I have to put this rumour to bed."

    7:16pm
ER: "Total usual in England you have chairman and manager who have opinion on player.

"Stuart knew all about the players. Never signed one without his okay."

    7:15pm
"Will he be able to manage like most British managers do?"

    7:15pm
Q: "Congratulations for getting Simon Grayson in. I'd like to ask if he will be working with the same model as Stuart McCall?"

    7:14pm
    First question....

I see. I love the misinterpretation of the written word.

So we agree that it is the clubs intention for the head coach to have an influential role in player recruitment? :)

Influential? Nah, I’m not sure many will agree with that.

We had a ‘Manager’ in McCall and his role within Recruitment wasn’t exactly ‘influential’. Yes, targets were discussed with him, but influential? Nah

But what evidence do you have to back this claim of yours up? Point me to it. It has been openly said that some players were identified by Abbott, some by Rahic and some by McCall. How do you know that some of the players signed last season were not brought to the clubs attention by McCall?

Poleon was definitely one of McCalls recommendations as was McGowan.

McCall admitted to Law, Taylor and McGowan being his signings. Not sure where you've got Poleon from?

I didn’t say that some weren’t identified by McCall. Where have I said otherwise? But ‘influential’? It was clear that McCall wanted Greer but his influence in getting him signed was..... zero

How do you know Poleon was “definitely one of McCall’s recommendations”?

Is this more of your hot air Park?

Has anyone got any transfer rumours or is this another thread descended into moaning about Edin Rahic?

Surely McCall was involved in some signings like Law and McGowan.

I won't be the first and doubt I'll be the last, I'm putting that down to a senior moment or several.

I do hope so, I could never see the point in bringing a coach in who had no input into players he was meant to get thebest outoff.

Woh, woh, woh. Just hang on a second. So now you are saying McCall did influence the identification of players but had no or very little influence in convincing the club to sign them? I find that very hard to believe.

McCall will have known the parameters within which the club were prepared to sign players. Edin has confirmed that had Greer been signed he would have been the highest paid player at the club - clearly a situation where the deal would fall outside those parameters.

What about Law, Hendrie, McGowan? McCall had zero influence in bringing them in? If you believe that then where's your evidence?

So he didn't say it excluded the manager which you said he did that's the point I was making

Spoke to Otis Khan on Sunday. Nobody has been in for him and still has a year on his contract left. So there maybe no interest from us.

Not sure he would pass the personality test - didn't he get 5 game ban for pushing a Ref? Seems like a bit of an odious character. His form in 2018 was poor as well.

Is he the one who pushed the ref then cried about his ban when it meant he couldn't play against man utd?

Yes, he made a mistake and it was a 3 game ban originally but Yeovil appealed it and was increased to 5 games. He's a fantastic lad. I'm sure we've all been booked or sent off through our football careers, I know I have.

Yes after serving his ban his form did suffer but he did not go back in to the team straight away and that really hampered him as he had no competitive football. He's looking fit and raring to go.
