As did one of my favourites Trevor Hockey
Can't remember if they ever played in the same team but just looking at them would put the fear of God into any midfield today

Bruce Stowell was a terrific player for us.
He scored the equaliser for us against
Spurs right in front of me in Bradford end,
hence the jumping for joy in the pic.He did'nt
score many but a type of midfielder we could
    do with now.

I also remember when he hit an appearances
milestone,he led the team out but the rest held
back so he came out alone for the deserved
    applause!

Barry Swallow had a pub over York way and I was
surprised to see him behind the bar hence the
statement "you're Barry Swallow" I think he knew
that but we had a brief chat about his time at City.

As Bronco says, teams in those days usually picked
themselves, they weren't necessarily the best but
what we did have was a bunch of honest players.
Good memories despite lack of real success..

Interesting the acceptance that the team's in the 60s were the best (although I can name all of them but struggle to remember the team that turned out at Salford)
The team in the photo was from the 1966/7 season when we finished 11th in the 4th division - 2 places lower than in the 2019/2020 season
We were rubbish then just like we have been for the last 3 years so its a good job that Bantams Talk wasn't around then
    - but I still love them -

Trevor Hockey Keighley lad had a great career one of my heroes. After playing in the States and managing he returned to Keighley Town with the ambition of getting them into the Northern Premier. Unfortunately Trevor passed away at 43 year old after a heart attack.
Could you imagine Keighley Town in the Football League.

Could you imagine Harrogate Town in the football league
Shows what can happen with a bit of vision
Trevor Hockey had the guts and determination to do it as well

Wonder how many of our younger fans will be able to in 50 years time name the last couple of seasons no hopers not many I wager
Like you I can name nearly every player from the mid 60s but not the team that lost at Salford we are probably the last generation to be able to do so
Sad Really how times have changed

No it was the 1967/68 team in that photo just before Pablo Aimson joined us. The clue is Pat Liney in the photo who joined us from Avenue about a month into the 67:68 season. We played some fantastic football that season under manager Willie Watson beating Wrexham 7-1 Notts co 5-1 Swansea 4-1

He started running one of the local pub sides from Keighley. Think it was the Lord Rodney on the green near the church. The team I played for played them in a friendly. After the match we went back to the pub, he had put food on and he brought all the international shirts he had swapped while playing for Wales. And he sat there and told us all some right tales, great bloke

Paul Aimson was class. I remember reading that, when Don Revie was building his Leeds United squad, there were two potential signings for centre forward, Mick Jones and Paul Aimson! Aimson was a scorer and a provider. I seem to recollect that, in Aimson's first game for City, Tony Lee who had been centre forward in the previous match, was moved to the right wing to accommodate Paul. The impressive presence of Aimson was a contributory factor in Lee scoring a hat trick that night,

Yes I remember at the time of Pablo leaving for Huddersfield Town the fans weren't very happy, just imagine what it would have been like if there had been the sort of social media available like today .
