Some people shop at home bargains out of necessity not because they like cheap stuff and I suppose Chinese money is as good as any when your selling property in Britain.

I know, I understand that, it’s not a dig at Home Bargains or anybody who shops there, I shop there just as much as the next person.

Interesting to see hospital procurement managers starting to get it a bit on twitter. Like I had said on multiple occasions the NHS is the best thing about the UK. But surely there has to be some sort of efficiency reform after this. It will be the same with the 'skint' Bradford council. Leaking money.

Yep, but many of those people would have died anyway within a short period of time, COVID-19 or not.

    Virologists, Doctors, Physicians etc.

There's a recent computer model which based on the up to date R0 of COVID-19 puts the death rate of the virus at 0.13%. This is based on the R0 to get an estimate of how many people have been most likely been infected through contact with a person with COVID-19. Two Californian doctors calculated the death rate in the state of California is as low as 0.03% and question why all these Lockdown measures are needed.

This type of information is quite difficult to find. It usually gets buried away or pushed way down your search engine results. One obscure article can be found here.

I've never been a conspiracy theorist, but something doesn't quite add up with all this.

Same here. It's difficult to find information that doesn't seem to have a bias. As with everything, the media pick a 'side' and stick with it. So you get articles quoting scientists and referencing science (with graphs) arguing the case for a full lockdown or you get articles quoting scientists and referencing science (with graphs) arguing the case against a full lockdown.

Hard to find a sensible, informative middle ground.

    This lot dont help themselves.

It's one thing to disagree with decisions on lockdown. But something else to disregard it, head to the streets in protests armed.

Let them out, the ones that have a bit of sense will social distance themselves, the ones that are meeting in crowds with guns may learn the hard way.

@Nottsy@Nottsy - it shouldn't be normal but over here it is (sadly). 2 things though; Trump dog whistles and the fact that it always looks like a rally for El Tango.
I honestly believe that a lot of the people who voted for him are not in approval of these kinds of protests.
When a protest becomes a tacitly encouraged rally, all credibility or moral high ground is list.
    We will see come November.

I don’t know what the polls or betting are like for the Presidency, and I don’t know a great deal about American politics, but if I had to stick a fiver on, I’d be betting on Trump winning.

To be fair, I think procurement like this has been a struggle globally. A number of countries have effectively pulled up the drawbridge and stopped PPE from leaving in appreciable quantities.

This is probably up there with the most humiliating stories of the crisis to date, whether it’s Cuomo’s administration or the White House that’s to blame. Imagine if this happened on this scale in the UK (and compare to the fallout when Chris Grayling awarded a £14m contract to a boat company with no boats):
