Tell them if they stop they will be loaned out to National league clubs, that might concentrate their minds on finding another club.

Excellent post, don't necessarily agree with all of it but in terms of continuity, only 2 words needed; Phil Parkinson.

And no Ricc, not calling for him to come back, just pointing out that sticking with him produced year on year improvement. Continuity has a lot going for it.

Are you upset that I described Burton Albion as a bab Championship side?

I don't really see how that can be a thing that anyone disagreed with, but hey-ho.

It's great that Jonny Mc played for Scotland. If you wanted to directly compare him to ROD, ROD has a slight stumbling block in terms of trying to get international caps for Scotland....

I'd dump the lot. We've had 2 years of dross that we're so used to it we're considering retaining some of the (at best) mediocre listed above. NONE of them have shown any right to wear the jersey next season.
Cut the squad right back. And build back again. Last time Stuart came back he had just 8 players on the books and managed to build a pretty decent squad.
First signing I'd make is Chief Scout and get the support staff sorted before we start signing any players.

Of the out-of-contract players, I’d be happy if we kept O’Donnell, GSK and Donaldson. If Ismail could ever get fit and stay fit, I’d be happy for him to stay too, but that seems unlikely.

Out of the contracted players, I’m hopeful that McCall can purge the majority. Bring back Vaughan, keep Paudie and Novak. Keep developing French and Staunton, but the rest can go for me.

From our current loanees, I’d be happy for Cooke to be signed permanently and Connolly if only as a winger. None of the others though, unless we are able to replace Hornby with McGee

I heard him giving instructions to his players. He also went ballistic with the players when they scored the 1st. But let’s be honest, it’s hardly his fault that McCall selected a keeper as a captain.

As a keeper, he’s as good as you will get at this level. Anyone thinking we will get considerably better is being unrealistic.

If we are to have continuity, and i'm not against that, what is strategic aim behind that that continuity? For all my years of supporting City its very rare we've had anything resembling a plan. Playing 'youngsters' is admirable but where are you recruiting them from? Is this going to be a deliberate part of our plan, if so what areas do we target? Our own youth? Needs investment in academy and there's no guarantee of a return, do we seek out young players from other clubs? Again money needed for recruitment and a fit for purpose scouting network.
I'll go back to examples like Fleetwood. More than holding their own in league 1 with a decent first team squad. A state of the art training facility with the emphasis on bring through youth around the North West. Seems they have more than a plan just reliant on 'affordable' football and cheap season tickets.

Fleetwood appear to have a progressive thinking chairman in Andy Pilley, sadly something we dont have. Not sure what money he has pumped in there, but you have to admire how Fleetwood have progressed since gaining promotion to the football league, especially when they will never be able to command crowds of much over 3000

    North of £10M Idle.
Through his company he paid for the ground and a new training facilities, which I understand are superb.
His company is the ultimate parent company of Fleetwood Town FC

Lets not forget a certain Joey Barton who has put that team together many saying on here they wouldn't touch him with a barge pole, but yes having a chairman behind you who has a similar vision has to be a big positive.

I would welcome Joey Barton as manager. Couldnt imagine him putting up with players attitudes and lack of fight during the last 18 months or so we have had to endure

He certainly wouldn't have come and worked under Rahic regime, it would be interesting to know what sort of player budget he got from Andy Pilley, but to have little Fleetwood in with a chance of playing Championship football can't be scoffed at.

What is it with City fans wanting complete tossers to lead the club?

First Steve Evans, now Joey Barton.

It's a whopping great no from me. Plenty managers better than those two who aren't idiots.

They face off against each other this weekend.
4th Offical will have his hands full.

Can't stand Barton, but personally hope his sticks one on Paul Raynor who's one of football's biggest pricks and with Evans should have been banned from football at Boston Utd
