End of Season Player retention or farewell?

The only person from the entire squad that I would be certain of keeping is Wood.

There are a few that I would be ok with keeping (O’Donnell, Pritchard, Reeves, Donaldson) but if they all went I wouldn’t be too bothered.

 

Why does Paudie get one? He's been poor in the games he's played, can't even get the basics of defending right.

 

I voted none of the above and that includes the two now below it. Awful set of players.

 

I'll agree with that but he showed promise the season before so, if we had a proper defender alongside him, perhaps he could rediscover that form?

 

Pritchard wouldnt be a regular at Guiseley ?

 

Agree on the four above. I would add to that McCartan. In addition I wouldn’t be disappointed to see both Cooke and Connolly return after their loans.

 

Is that a question or a statement?

 

I would keep O'Donnell and Reeves, and possibly McCartan.

I wouldn't be upset if we retained Riley, though he's done absolutely nowt, so that would be wage dependent.

 

Nevertheless, he is still young and I think he has potential. Put him alongside a beast of a centre half, in the mould of an Andrew Davies, and I think he would thrive.

 

Reeves isn't staying mate.. he's off! It's a race between him and Pogba to see which one can mug their club off the best.. plus he's out of contract.

McCartan isn't rated and will leave.

O'Donnell will stay.

 

BRE had a good start to the season. He has limitations but form wise looks a better player than O'connor has. We've seen a fair few players at Valley Parade build a reputation when not actually playing, Paudie seems to be one of them. Devitt too.

 

Paudie's under contract and is a great age.

I'd keep him, no reason to bin off younger players - it's those we look to as 'leaders' we need to bin off, like Ben Richards-Everton and Anthony O'Connor.

 

Anyone who thinks Donaldson should stay needs their head checking. I thought it was a crap signing in the summer and I've seen absoutley nothing to change my mind.

How many games have we won without him in the side.

 

We were in a similar position last season with half leaving, half contracted.

The club can’t / won’t ditch all the contracted players unless massive investment from the owner is forthcoming to pay them off. I’d only keep a couple, max but I think we’ll see about 7 or 8 staying on.

 

There is also George Sykes-Kenworthy, Adam Henley, and Jordan Gibson to add to that list. I would let them all go TBH.

 

Heres a way forward. Stuart needs the funds to bring in another 18 first team players thats all we need. Then if we are left with 7-8 of these losers. Just side line all of them as fringe players. Eventually they will get the message "shape up" or bugger off !

 

The way forward? That's how we got this bloated squad in the first place.
