100% agree. McCall was right in what he was saying but McCall in his game she since being here has used basically the same set of players, so in one minute he's saying everyone will get a chance to a we will be getting rid.

Early days and he needs time but I think he's struggling with the large squad and the lack of quality but he needs to help himself now.

Totally disagree with this, to be blunt this lot need no more pussyfooting around - I know you could argue they have not performed for so many reasons (both on and off field) but the basic truth is they have, on the whole, not shown enough to deserve to be here next season so I have no problem with SM comments. Those with anything about them will respond in the right way to what he has said but lets be honest, if you ask most City fans who they really want us to keep you can probably count them on one hand. I also disagree with your comments on those contracted being on easy street, for those who might not want to stay I have heard discussions are already in place and I fully expect some of them not to be with us next season.
Our club needs a shake up in so many areas as documented on other threads but re the players, SM is NOT saying this in the press because he thinks it is what we want to hear - he is saying it because it is one of the fundamental things that HAS to happen for us to start to move forward

But would he get a better response by saying these things in private it’s what the best managers do

Wouldn't surprise me to see Hiwula return next season. Stuart mentioned in the t&a today about how he scouted him for a while before signing him and he looks to be leaving coventry on a free in the summer.

I am honestly not sure if he would Park, I think SM has been a bit shocked at the lack of quality and top heavy playing staff at the club (I know he would have known this before he returned, particularly on the numbers) - our club has suffered through deathly silence and apparent lack of leadership for too long and I have no problem with Stuart telling our under performers exactly what he thinks in public. As I say, some of our shrinking violets will probably shrink yet further in the next 12 games but hopefully some will seize the challenge and to be honest they are the only ones I am bothered about going forward

It probably already been said in private by Bowyer and Mccall and we have seen the response. A large group of players have shown themselves to be spineless with no leadership skills making the same errors again and again as many as possible need to be shown the door.

I totally agree with SMc on the size of the squad and the quality. He has not named any individual player that I aware of, he has stated the obvious. The player who wish to play for Bradford City need to get a grip, and also show that they have the level of skill and aptitude for the job. Stuart doesn’t say working hard and having the desire are all you need, he is saying don’t be a footballer or anybody if you can’t deliver as he sees that as a given. He is also saying no more excuses, don’t feel sorry for yourself, take responsibility. I agree. If you get upset by what he has said, then maybe being a professional footballer is not your thing.

I have watched pathetic performances of the club I have supported for many a long year these last two or so years, I say no more. If SMc wants a smaller squad that is just fine by me. What I want to see are players who love playing football at this club and recognise it is a privilege. I want them to play as a cohesive team/squad.

Im not sure that saying the squad is too big, when he is continuing every week with the same CH and GK who are letting in soft goals left right and centre helps his cause.

Similarly the midfield, getting over run every week through at least one players failings yet so far fairly consistently sticking with that same 4/5 well than im sorry but, no sympathy. Get using that too big squad and get a tune out of it

The club lost is voice when pointy shoes was forced out. He may not have been everyones cup of tea but the club had a voice and the fans were kept informed.

McCall needs to tread carefully, we saw what happened when Grayson used the same threats about playing for your future. We witnessed some unbelievably poor, lack lustre, uninterested performances by players who knew they wouldn't be kept on. For some (like Doyle) they'll be glad to see the back of Bradford City. It'll take time to make us an attractive club again after what's gone on these last few years, having a large fan base but no direction will appeal to journey men but not youngsters with any ambition.

You never know, now that they know they are going to be put in the shop window, they might start playing again.
I find it very strange that there's no cohesion among this lot, but then again, that's the downside of having a large squad with no togetherness. The ones who should be stepping up, are the ones who should be trying to make amends for last season.

Of course you can blame the players, they don't get a free ride because the club is run ineffectively or the last manager didn't live up to the level.

    This does run very deep.

The club has not been managed properly, boardroom and team management. From an ownership point of view since Rupp/Rahic bought the club and from team management perspective since Parkinson left.

We have had mostly downs with some ups but the decision making in both these areas has been poor overall.

Several fans were saying exactly that after our Wembley defeat, the more we found out about Rahic his running of the club made it very hard for anyone who took over as coach/manager to do their job without interference from a man who was quite happy to tell anyone who'd listen he knew football, had coaching badges, and had a scouting system in Europe.
Although Rupp has said he will do all he can to put the club back to where we were before THEY took over I'd prefer him to sell the club as it seems to most his heart really isn't in the club or its fans.
