Look the season is over in terms of getting in to the play offs.

You can't let Doyle and Vaughan go to replace with Novak and Guthrie... that's madness!

The squad is too big but it all points that as a club we have no long term planning. We have no identity on or off the pitch!

Players like Reeves will leave but players like AOC will stay.

If we seen signing the likes of Guthrie then yes we can have a slow squad but it will lack quality.

From now until the end of season Stuart has to play the likes of Devitt and as you say find a formation that works. If for example we played Reeves, Cooke and Devitt as a midfield 3 I don't think many would complain.

We need to press teams and go for it! If we lose we lose but the lack of fight, Reeves sideways passing and being weak has Harry on the ball is unacceptable.

 

I understand what you're saying that you don't think they will react well to any additional pressure but herein lies the problem, they've not reacted well to any sort of pressure. Some these players are closing in on two seasons without giving any sort of reaction, first to a relegation and then secondly it looks like we aren't having a reaction to completely bottling this season.

If they can't react to being made redundant then they never will and aren't welcome at City for me.

 

To be fair most of them would get another club.

The issue is the club mate not the players... it's a highly unambitious club and I think when a club is like that you need leaders. to drive it forward on the pitch.

Nobody seems to care and when you have the weakest set of fans in football you don't have too. We went down last season and some fans stayed to clap them off!! Embarrassing!

So, the players are not hungry but neither is the club.. the players collect their wage and don't care but Rupp and Rhodes do the same!

Can't blame the players... it's deeper than that!

 

Sorry Fordy but look at Newports first goal, that's not JR is it? That is just basic football and no matter what work you do in training there has to be a natural instinct to go pick the man up. I was fine with this group when we were not pretty but grinding results out, but we don't even look like we have that sort of resilience in us anymore.

 

You're 100% right it is basic football but how many times have we seen basic mistakes. To get rid of basic mistakes you have to care!

Reeves- will move to a div 1 club.
Akpan - will move to div 1 or 2 club
Wood - could move to div 1 or championship club
Vaughan- already at a div 1 club
AOC - move back to Scotland or another club

I could go on!

The problem is the club is ran in a mess. When Edin went the players and I suppose fans were waiting for Rupp & Rhodes to kick the club forward. We held on to Bowyer far too long the got rid on 2 quality forwards for this league.

McCall comes in and players like AOC can't cope.

The players are mirroring the club.. no drive or hunger and still waiting... waiting to leave now!

Wood will only go for a reasonable fee and tbh think the club will offer a new deal over the summer.

 

Seems like a lot of "I want this, I want that" in regards to team and player quality, but no research, suggestions or proper reasoning behind anything. Calling players crap won't do anything if theres no meaningful discussion.

A lot of hatred revolving around Novak and Guthrie, so who do you suppose would look a good fit? What style of play has Stuart favoured in the past? Stay positive and give constructive feedback so in the odd case that someone with power actually does read this forum, they don't just see "This guys shit, this guys shit" and see things that could give them leads, ideas and confidence that they need to sort out the situation right now.

 

I'm not sure why people keep dodging the truth. We're going backwards and McCall knows this. It takes time to implement your plans and then a willing chairman and CEO to back that plan. Pains me to say it but if it means I can see forward progress then this season can do one. It's clear what we need, it's not necessarily a full clear out. Just a plan for now that sees decent players fitting a system. For example the Wembley playoff team under McCall, wouldn't say it was the best set of individuals. But they all knew their role (well at least until McCall went all worry about the opposition), we had the quality general in Cullen and the quality outlet of Marshall. Would anyone seriously say a back four of Mezza, NKP, Vince and the character would have been good enough individually? Well it certainly worked, we played some great footy that season. So let's not be silly looking years down the line. Plan now. Get rid of the weaknesses, less shite and touch more quality.

 

Wood played in the Wembley play off system way would have been great to watch.
