Still no credible & realistic suggestion for how things will quickly get better?

He's failing right now because he's at a failing club, and the new guy will find that out PDQ. That's what happens, managers go to failing clubs and guess what? They usually fail.

Nathan Jones & the Crowley brothers could do no wrong, joined failing clubs & the former sacked & the latter struggling, way it goes. Bowyers comments are beginning to sound just like Jones's at Stoke.

The focus on Bowyer is alarming, we can't see the wood for the trees, we are failing and will continue to fail when Bowyers is gone. The penny still won't drop & we'll soon want the next guy out too....unless those with more power are changed.

Hhmmm need to be careful with statements like that.

we were up in arms when a previous manager was fired after saying the exact same thing and there is a vocal group on here who want that very same, doesn’t know what to do, manager brought back!

Although I am not a fan of the way Rupp runs the club from afar, he has backed Bowyer allowing him to bring in 20 players since appointing him less than 12 months ago.

Bowyer more or less admits that he hasnt a clue what to do to get a tune out of them anymore, similar to McCalls comments prior to be sacked.

Time to get rid, and bring in another manager and coaching team to try and get this season back on track. We still have time, with the right man at the helm, to get this squad playing and secure a top 7 spot

I don't think anybody disagrees that Rupp should sell and Rhodes needs to go. We need a long term plan, a strategy and footballing men in charge at the top, no question.

But we also have to think short term. Can the club afford to allow Bowyer to continue driving fans away with his garbage football? I don't think they can, especially as this football looks highly unlikely to achieve promotion. Once you lose fans and they find something better to do on a saturday, it's very hard to get them back.

I hate to keep using Stuart as an example but, with everything going on behind the scenes in his tenure, he still managed to entertain most fans every week and make us look forward to going to games. On a mid table budget too.

I can't say the same for Bowyer and he has been backed. He's not the sole problem, but he is certainly one of them and there's no plausible reason, in my mind, to keep this charade going.

We’re not a failing club when the manager is backed and has an underperforming squad, we’re a failing manager contributing to a failing club.

that is a total cop out to blame a failing club, the club hierarchy doesn’t tell Bowyer to play defensive hoof ball.

McCall had a philosophy and brought an identity to the way we played. He had his hands tied by the dictator and all his best players released against his will. Bowyer has been heavily backed and seems to have full control without interference. Bowyer Ball isn't even remotely close to looking like anything that could closely relate to Football. Totally different situation. McCall's football wasn't reducing the attendance by over 50% and I imagine the ST sales are non existent. What is the point in keeping him in. He's useless and costing the club £1000's a week in the process. He's wasting his own time and ours.

The biggest mistake the club made over recent years was keeping Drury! That was a costly mistake to make.

If it was a must that he had to stay then we needed to bring another coach in that Bowyer knew he could work with.

Drury I am sure is a decent bloke but he has no effect on the players or Bowyer! Normally, when a manager brings his own team in and if a member of staff is to stay he tends to be in the back ground.

Now, we seem to doing the same thing with Bowyer which is keeping someone that needs to leave.

I said we have financial issues and getting rid of staff is a business decision. If the club are not making business decisions then we are in deep trouble.

Drury and Bowyer need to go. If we can't afford to pay them off then fans need to be asking serious questions.

I agree. We should also stop penny pinching on the back up staff. Bringing in good coaching staff is not an add on extra that we can do without it is vital. That is straight out of the Rahic era. I know Rupp wants to put in minimum investment, but If this keeps happening, we won’t be able to get players or managers through the door. There is also pitch renovation, which just has to take place in the summer. I personally think the promotion has been lost this season, I would be extremely happy if I am wrong. Yes in theory we are not far away, but looking at the squad it’s a miles away.

We cant afford to them pay off but hopefully we cant afford not to either, home gate receipts must be down £10k- £20k per game on where the club thought.

I agree with elements of this, and we can't just keep sacking and replacing managers - but Bowyers deeply unpopular brand of football isn't the right one to back.

I would rather have two good coaches than Anderson and Akpan.

The clamour on here is for him to go. They won’t sack him until he’s tried out his new signings. By which time the season will have gone. Sad but inevitable.

I find it incredulous that the Club have so misjudged the mood of the fans and that they can treat them with such disdain. Their actions, or lack of, really is indefensible. We have a right to expect the wellbeing of our Club to be a priority and the performance of all connected to accept nothing but what is in the best interest of the Club, commercially and otherwise. This rift has to be addressed and poor decision making must have consequences directed at those responsible for our present predicament.

I just keep checking every hour on here and T&A site to see when he has gone and it’s getting very tedious, just like the football lately.
Come on city, pull the trigger.

The rift can only be addressed with the removal of Bowyer and Drury.

As Fordy stated earlier, we stick with Bowyer, we beat Grimsby, but he will still now be only 1 bad performance and defeat such as Oldham and Mansfield, away from the fans to turn again

If we sack Bowyer now and the new manager doesn't achieve an instant turn around in results I bet there will be a "Sack the manager" thread in August 2020.

Unfortunately I think it's more likely to be the dreaded vote of confidence but whatever it is, they need to do it sooner rather than later. The silence as usual is deafening and proves yet again they haven't learnt from previous mistakes.
