That's what I thought, then I saw the pitch and our disastrous transfer window

 

No sales haven’t fallen flat 95% renew in the last few days

 

To be fair, Julian is as pragmatic and risk-averse as Bowyer.

Not wanting to pump money into the pitch and wanting to save money on the squad doesn't mean admin.

It probably means the board acknowledge we're definitely not getting promoted this season, so might as well save money on expensive strikers who haven't set the world alight for us, and that the pitch wasn't an emergency pre-season, which it probably wasn't.

But let's be real here: it's this lack of ambition to push for automatic promotion by investing a few more bob that has upset the fanbase. They'll reap what they've sown next season, despite the cheap season ticket prices.

For this club, there will be no greater disaster than low attendances at rock bottom prices.

It's been okay up until now because fans have backed the club - even after Rahic last season, but immediately succeeded by Rupp/Rhodes' excessive shrewdness AND Gary Bowyer's tedious manure-ball, it's a perfect storm for a bit of a rude awakening for the club.

 

The attendance is only this high this season because Rahic was ousted before the deadline. If he hadn't exited and heralded a 'new era', there's no chance we'd have 12,000 or whatever season tickets.

What ace do the club have up their sleeves this season?

Backing a manager of extremely low standing?

Selling and loaning out key strikers during a supposed 'promotion push'?

Feebly accepting yet another season in League Two?

I'll be interested to hear what they're doing to attract repeat sales, let alone 8,000 new sales.

 

Bowyer if we don't bring a striker in we already have options which includes Patrick who scored goals at Wrexham....Wtf this club is a joke.

Also saying were not blessed financially to bring anyone in....well maybe Rupp should actually care and put some of the ,2m mcburnie money into the team.

Never gonna happen he wants out and wont invest any more.

 

Interesting there’s no talk of anyone leaving us (other than those two). I guess it’s only Bowyer who thinks Devine and Anderson are worth a contract.

 

Does anyone have a link to that statement Rupp put out, after he parted company with Rahic?
I’d just like to read it again, as for some strange reason I’m doubting what was said...

 

If the board have given up on promotion then what an absolute joke. What rightminded club sitting in the playoffs with 16 games to go and trying to sell 20000 seasons tickets for next year would just give up on promotion? It doesn't make any sense.

 

Club who's owner doesn't care and leadership is non existent

Where is the Rupp money supposedly available in this window....

All lies not only do we not spend we cash in on our 2 players we can move on.

Agree but don't see a striker of note coming in with Bowyer talking we have options if we get no one in.

Good luck to club with season ticket renewals after Tuesday's attendance then getting rid of doyle and vaughan.

I honestly think they think we.will.put up with anything had no intention of getting 20k...just get our existing 14k to renew as they always do regardless of lack of investment.

 

In previous seasons fans have called for the club to go after the top scorers in the league and show ambition. This year we had that and let him go you can't make up this club fecking Tinpot

 

I am not expecting any incomings! We have been here before, messing about on the last day. I also think we have given up on promotion as we are not prepared to invest in January on filling the gaps. Our rivals are doing just that. I don’t care what the club say about priority no 1 it’s their actions that tell me a different story. They are not being honest with the fans. You do not get promotion by playing negative football, and that will get us precisely bugger all in the playoffs if by some miracle we cling onto a spot.
I have no idea what is going on at VP Towers, but what I see is a manager struggling to get players to play some kind of system ,key players wanting to exit and in fact the club has meekly just let them go. No attempt to resolve the problems, they are adults for ffs!!
I hope I am wrong on all fronts I really do I would more than happy for ppl to pull this post up having gained promotion. I would rather be wrong and ridiculed, than see my club and team in this incredible mess.

 

Promotion, otherwise anything else that is offered will fall on deaf ears, Rahic as you say was the problem fans have taken that on board and backed the club by purchasing tickets in good numbers for the current season but I fail to see how they will sell next season if were still in league two.
Although we were told by @wetherbywhaler in his opinion it could take several yearsI believe he said to get back to where we were.

Well it will take several years if we don’t have a plan and don’t invest in the club. Sitting there wringing our hands saying there is no money, whilst our own sits on his millions will not wash.

 

Where is wetherby whaler? I haven't seen him for ages which is a great shame as he provides a very valuable insight into the club's affairs. Is his silence significant?

 

How's Devitt getting on with you guys? Any rumblings that he might be recalled?
