Last couple of months we’ve had Oteh, Vaughan and McCarten with Patrick and Doyle out on loan and Donaldson injured. Three strikers.

We’ve now got Donaldson, McCarten, Oteh and Patrick with Doyle half out the door. Four strikers and Devitt back as a number 8.

Don’t kid yourself there’s a striker coming in. Closest we’ll get is Swindon’s seventh choice in part exchange for Doyle.

You could tell in his demeanour he was unhappy and has been for some time. Would be interesting to know the real reason as to why he's gone and not just the usual rumour mill. Only Doyle to go now and that's two of the top scorers in the division gone. Wonder who the replacements for the divisions two top scorers will be?

Yep. He’s a talented player and more than good enough for League Two but he’s, quite simply, a bad egg.

He’s got an attitude problem and the decision to sign him on a three year deal and make him captain has been a questionable one by Bowyer.

You can be a committed captain without being a hot headed t**t. Jones and McCall got stuck in but they didn’t have the baggage he has.

Hope he settles at Tranmere and they sign him permanently in the summer.

He’s done okay for us goal wise but nothing spectacular. We’ve made worse pound for pound signings but when the going has got tough he’s gone running. Ta ra, James.

If the rumours are true and he was an arrogant sod in the dressing room this is only a good thing. Doyle's heart is clearly down in Swindon so getting a fee for him makes sense as well.

Can't agree with that. Bowyer knew exactly what he was getting when he signed him. If he was a bad egg don't you think he would've found out through his alleged due diligence?

Plus I think with Vaughan being captain he was the one who had to speak up on behalf of the team and say something to Bowyer about his shite tactics. He's been shafted if you ask me.

I hope he comes back in the summer when Bowyer has been binned off.
