I'm not sure what this perception is Ron. He achieved everything he said he would do, fact it went tits up is irrelevant. No one else in my lifetime and suspect every other city fans has done what Richmond did.

 

Not disagreeing but it was also fact he depended on money from ITV digital to keep the cash flow going and keep us afloat. That also cant be denied as Richmond quoted it himself.

Not at all, times were good under Richmond, but I fail to see how our demise under Richmond is not fact he along with the Rhodes were responsible for our demise that is also a fact.
And that's what I mean by some remember those time as successful which I don't believe most would disagree, but in attaining those successful times it ultimately caused our fall down the leagues.

 

Imagine if we were trying to sign Doyle from Swindon as a new player. Leagues twos highest goal scorer, form of his life, taking best striker from a rival...

Money, formations, style, history etc would not even be up for discussion. Non factors.

My whole point was which chairman had achieved the most success. The way he chose to do it or the insinuating fallout were irrelevant to my original point. Its like saying Manchester City's current owners are the most successful in their history but then pointing out its because they've spent the most.

I was always under that impression that's how our love affair with our Premiership times ended over a meal with Richmond where he was critical of some of the decisions Jewel had made during the season.

We did something similar with James Vaughan. He was a Bradford player for 2 days before City finally decided to announce it at 8am on a Tuesday morning.
