Away vs Swindon Jan 4th 2020

Sadly, as I've said, neither Lee Power or Jagger were there. The girls in the Boardroom were expecting Lee but said they didn't know who Paul J is!
There was no clue as to where they think they are with Doyle but if you look it up only Lee is a Director, the rest are his drinking buddies so probably won't know anyway.
As with BSA Bantam, I spoke with fans around me and I think the general mood from them was pessimistic but like all of us they don't know. Think Tuesday will be interesting one way or the other.

 

I said this early in the week and people like @STFCTown Ender started giving me abuse. @Swindon is a little bit more down to earth but some people can't handle the truth but I talk the truth!

They say the league doesn't lie but that comes in to play at the end of the season. The league is lying at the minute as Swindon as an extremely poor side.

I said if they really want Doyle then they need to pay big money for him around 200k-250k because without Doyle they won't go up automatically and will be lucky to finish in the play offs.

I expect teams to figure them out in the second half of the season.

Losing Doyle and Yates then that's them done!

 

In getting Doyles, Yates and Grant it was good recruitment but fans will start demanding they sign these players but it will cost them and the poor card is over. Swindon do have money but act poor!

 

Well that was an awful game. You were good value for your point, although there was little sign of an equaliser coming until a bit of magic.

For anybody who watched on IFollow i apologise about Hockaday. He doesn't represent us with his views. He's a miserable sod and i don't know any Swindon fans who like him being on the commentary. He spent half the game commenting on your style of play even though we were playing just as shit!

If i was a Bradford fan i'd probably be wondering what all the fuss was about with Swindon after playing them twice. The truth is though, you've caught us at a good time again. Ravaged with injuries, players who are clearly not fit and players being played out of position. It's a shame from my point of view you never got to see what we are really about this season. Our performance against Plymouth compared to our performance against you, you'd think it was 2 completely different teams. Really am puzzled as to why we abandoned our philosophy to lump it down the channel.

Back to the game. I personally think Reeves should've seen Red. His challenge was no different to Lyden's. Poorly timed, reckless and very dangerous. Also thought you had a pretty good claim for a penalty. Haven't seen it back, but there were 2 dodgy challenges where i was waiting for the referee to point to the spot.

I'm really not sure why you play so defensively. On the rare occasions you did venture forward, and got the ball wide to Connolly, you looked a threat. Palmer had a good game in midfield. Vaughan i felt sorry for. Had absolutely no support for large periods of the game. I hope if you do recall Doyle, you aren't going to use him in the same way. I can see now why so many of your fans are frustrated. You have a good team there. Go and hurt teams.

Hopefully now the Doyle saga can be resolved. He won't work for you, but at the same time, i can see why you wouldn't want to leave him with us scoring goals. It's a massive January for us. The biggest in around 5 years. Apparently Power and Jewell weren't at the game today? potentially a positive sign for us.

Good luck for the rest of the season. Couldn't care less if you finish in the top 3. Just as long as we join you.

 

We don't know why Bowyer plays so negatively either.

Reeves was extremely poor and i agree it was a red card. He's a bit overrated here.

Why would Power and Jewell not being at the game a positive sign?

 

Because (presumably) it means they are working on a deal for a player(s)

 

After the first 15/20 minutes where Swindon held the upper hand I thought the rest of the first half was pretty even, unlucky when A.O'Connor hit the post. However second half we dominated against a top of the league side on their own ground who were made to look very average by our second half performance, the Swindon fans no doubt will claim that they had a depleted side, to counter that BCFC also had five players missing.

Overall despite some "iffy" performances recently that's eight games unbeaten only three goals conceded, we look a difficult team to beat only five (all by one goal) defeats in twenty five games,with players to come back 2020 looks very promising.

 

What on a matchday?

For me it just means they didn't want to get involve in Doyle talk.

 

Doyle is in Ireland. Power owns a football club in Ireland. Could be over there discussing personal terms. It's all speculation.

 

You need him, just depends on if you firstly meet our demands and then secondly Doyle's demands. Likes the smell of the folding stuff does Doyler.

 

I' m not convinced he wants to sign for them full time.

Is that Dave Hockaday?. If so, he will be still bitter that he got sacked at dirty Leeds after we beat them in the league cup a few years ago!

 

Its amazing how teams seem to play poorly against us. I think sometimes you need to look at the opposition not letting you play well, denying space etc. Plus Doyle has been missing twice

 

I have to agree with this to be honest. The way you play hampered us, as that's exactly what you'd expect an opposition to do. I have to say, it was probably the worst game for quality and entertainment I've seen this season. I can understand why you Bradford fans may not be enamoured with the style of play. I can also see why Doyle wouldn't fit in that team, but he would probably still score a few, just not be as prolific. At this stage of the season you probably won't need him to be, another 10 or 12 will do I should imagine.

As for the game, you made it tough for us and if I'm honest, I found Morecambe more entertaining. But despite the possession I didn't see you scoring from open play at all (but then, I don't think we looked like scoring either). It was clear to me that you were a threat from set plays and I just knew that free kick was gonna go in. Overall, I think a draw was a fair result, as neither side deserved to win the game.

Whatever happens with Doyle (if I was a Bradford fan, I'd want him recalled too) I wish you well. It's things like this that sour relations and perceptions, as our fans bias, perceptions and passions get in the way. The longer it goes on that may affect our boardrooms too. I think it'll be resolved quickly. We should look to buy him, but as always, how much is Power willing to pay.

I agree with everything you say. It's easier as a manager to be a destroyer rather than a creator. You are correct. If we start losing fans will quickly turn. We had the same with Phil Parkinson. You need to win if playing style is pooh
