A lot to agree with there but I think we are 6 points behind Swindon not 4.

Bowyer built up a Blackpool team, from less than what he has with us and they and he is still spoken of highly by their fans

Why do you think that we're so special, that we are above the likes of Bowyer? Kindly remember Blackpool have been in both the top two divisions far more recently than us

Some on here, allow the crowds to fool them - yet the real truth is that Rochdale have spent more of the last ten seasons in L1 than we have

Good result, week off rest the legs after a hectic period and we move on.

Agree, it's a bit strange that Bowyer didn't fancy Cadiss (after being one of our better player during his time at City), could it have been his wage demands at the time that he's had to lower to get a regular game.

I think it's the wages. Remember he knows Mellor well and he wouldn't have realised what would happen to Riley

An excellent result for us, although gutting to not win it at the end. Another 10 / 15 mins and we win that. Fine margins in football, Shay played a vital role in both games v Swindon.
Will be an interesting Jan that's for sure. Recall Doyle and our chances of promotion shoot up and Swindons fall significantly, we have to use that to our advantage.
Been supporting the club for nearly 20 years and we are on course for our highest finish, winning the league is absolutely within reach

Imp McCartan should be playing every week and a full 90 minutes too. But blandbowyer doesn't know players

It's a funny one, it really is. Stylistically his football is shit. Entirely geared up to concede as few as possible and then rely on set pieces and opposition mistakes to score goals. Now, theres a decent argument to be made that it's working in terms of league position and generally, results.

But watching us, it's hard to shake the feeling that with the players and budget we have, we could be more ambitious and entertaining without compromising- and possibly even improving - results.

Either way, it's hard to dispute that we're awful to watch.

For how we get own fans moaning on about what great footie teams the likes of Swindon are apart from the penalty they had one more shots on target than us and actually created little

Our defence is superb. We need to wrap BRE and both O'Connors in cotton wool, between games

Very good result, but we were poor no doubt about it. Swindon the same in all fairness, we defended well and they created nothing other than at the start of the game. They're nothing without doyle.

However, I guarantee it was the plan for swindon to let us have the majority of the possession when they know we don't create much at all. And that's what happened, we looked very poor and uncomfortable on the ball. Absolutely no movement whatsoever. Vaughan isolated with no service at all. There's feeding off scraps but that was another level for the most part today.

Taylor absolute shite, reeves poor, palmer ok and Cooke probably MOTM.

We only looked even remotely threatening when we went 442/4231, absolute shock horror. Connolly saw nothing of the ball for 80 minutes yet he gets fed out wide twice in the last ten and beats his man twice. Why did it take so long?

McCarten excellent free kick so hopefully that gives him some confidence.

Bowyer got out of jail massively, with our only meaningful effort on goal taking 89 minutes and being a set piece. However there were signs of a greater attacking intent with 4 attackers on the pitch, so you can only pray he's learnt something after that.

We've got good players who can attack, let the shackles off Bowyer FFS.

There was a comment some time over the summer that whilst Bowyer wanted to retain him, Caddis wanted to remain as a Div 1 player and not drop down to Div 2. What a shame for us as it's worked out.

What a great point and the usual suspects talking to soon again. Four points from the league leaders and a difficult match out the way ready for another next week.

Up there as one of the worst managers of all time and gets promotion. True hero.

Swindon are known for starting their home matches with all guns firing. It's a good idea, if you're confident enough, to let them and then pick them off when they inevitably run out of idea. Two problems we have with that, is Henley and of course conceding a penalty!! Otherwise I was OK with start - but we clearly need to use the ball better

And if we're playing one up front then midfield creativity of Cooke and Pritchard are vital

If the Swindon lot are on later, I'd be interested in whether they saw that as an unusually poor performance. That's generally as well as we ever play.

Totally agree. Tactical genius would have been achieved if the McCartan free kick had been the winner.

Well just witnessed a great second half footballing lesson to Swindon we got a point but it should have been three Swindon were outclassed after an even first half having said that we should have had at least a goal in the first half, but the second half was totally dominated by city, slightly disappointed with just a point but Swindon will go away from this game thinking City should be top of the pile and not us.
