Different times, different problems. Companies couldn't move finances around the world at will before Thatcher removed exchange controls. Multinational companies are more powerful than national governments now. Huge economies like China, India and Brazil were undeveloped back then. We still had much of the legacy of our domination as an Empire power owning half the world; that's gone now.
Cutting ourselves adrift from the biggest trade bloc on the planet, with the most bargaining muscle, is economic madness. Our descendents will hate us for it and wonder why we decided to cut off our nose to spite our face.

Trevor has looked at this incident and either believed fake news without trying to discern where the news is coming from which would make my words about him correct. Or he has chosen to ignore the fact its fake news and promote the view to undermine the truth.

What in any of that deserves politeness? Either hes thick as and needs to remind himself of that before jumping into complex discussions and demanding equal parity. Or hes a conman and needs calling out.
