I'm sure there is and I guess it will have been checked already.

On this evenings Spectator Bulletin which of course is a Tory news magazine where Boris was previously editor, they are suggesting it wasn't stage managed and that Boris did himself no favours at all with his reaction. CCHQ even despatched Matt Hancock to LGI in order to calm things down and to phone the boy's mother to apologise. It went from bad to worse with 'senior Tories' then saying that Hancock's aide was punched by a Labour activist at the LGI and that the police should be called. It transpired from footage that this hadn't happened at all and that the aide had simply walked into somebody's outstretched arm .. and then continued walking! I don't know what any of them get out of such exaggerations, if not outright lies.

A curse on all their houses!

    Interesting insight, thanks Dennis.

I had heard that the family had been apologised to on the radio.

It might not be representative, but that doesn't mean it didn't happen.

Sadly it's difficult to discern fact from fiction, so can sort of see why @trevor@trevor was hesitant to believe the story, but the idea of wasting police time was too much.

Naturally, the Spectator is very supportive of Boris and is usually very quick to absolve him of any 'crimes' others might accuse him of. On this occasion, they haven't done so which suggests that they believe there is some truth to the phone incident. Sending Hancock to the LGI to apologise to the parents reinforces this and suggests there is something in all of this.

The closer to the 12th it gets the more ludicrous the stories. the funniest thing about is the g0mpers lapping it up and then lamely using it some social media points scoring exercise. Heck, if they're not careful they may even end up explaining to us the ins and outs of their policies in the few days of campaigning left.

Can totally understand why trev might have thought it was fake too, probably lots of people in a similar boat given that either Tory HQ or somebody supporting them is literally programming bots to peddle the false counter-narrative on twitter. These are bizarre times we live in.

Was listening to Election Cast from the BBC earlier and they were suggesting that this incident with the poor boy on the floor of LGI might ‘put Boris on the back foot’.

Jesus Christ, there’s a small boy suffering from pneumonia on the floor of a hospital. I couldn’t give a flying toss what the circumstances are, the national broadcaster, that we’re legally obligated to fund if we want to watch live broadcasts in this country, shouldn’t be covering this as mere political positioning.

It’s been symptomatic of this election’s coverage and it’s been bloody awful from start to finish.

You have similar views on the Tories to me. But what I find amazing is that you are willing to risk voting in a more right wing Tory government than Thatcher's mob, in the hope (based on no evidence whatsoever) that Brexit will make things better.
If Johnson gets a working majority we'll have five more years of slash and burn government, the NHS will be franchised out beyond recognition and Johnson will have sold us out to the USA in his desperation for s trade deal. The rich will keep getting richer and the poor poorer.
I just don't understand why you think Brexit is going to be so desirable when the price is the damage done by five more years under the most extreme free marketeer zealots we've seen in our lifetime.

Politics is a dirty game for some, having said that Boris didn't handle it well, where as Matt Hancock delt with it far better.

If you want a glimpse of the future under a Johnson led Govt, have a read of Britannia Unchained written by a group of his current Cabinet and all extreme free market Brexiters - Raab, Priti Patel, Liz Truss and Kwasi Kwarteng. It's very scary and bears little relationship to the brave new world expected by most from a post Brexit UK.

The problem imo is that the GE has now become a choice between Brexit and Corbyn; neither of which will be good for our country's long term economic health.

I’d love to see that you’re right, but I can’t see it. The polls have been generally pretty static for a couple of weeks now. If Labour pull themselves out of this mess then it’s due to a polling error.

I voted to leave Steve as you kwow, the vast majority of MPs said they would honour the outcome of that referendum vote, what brexit meant and how the electorate viewed leaving was done to death we will never agree on each others view on Leaving the EU.
So over the last three years we have seen each party come out with their interpretation of Brexit, the Lib/Libs saying if they got into power they woud totally ignore/disregard the outcome, Labour IMO are wanting to water Brexit down so basically its the satus quo.
Labour have different elements within the party saying different stuff about how they are going to get a better deal but accepting they do ( which I don't believe any deal they negotiate will be anything like what the leavers voted for) they wil then put that deal on the table with another option of staying in, they will then stand against the deal they negotiated and ask the electorate to vote remain.
I'm not sure my vote will make any differance in Bradford South as both Brexit and the Tories are putting candidates up so the leave vote could be split.
So in conclusion although my voting past has always been for a socialist party on principle I can't vote for a party that has dismissed millions of fellow Labour supporters as not knowing what they voted for and they know best.
A Bradford South majority voted to leave yet when I e-mailed Judith Cummin's her original reply was she could not support something that would cost her electorate jobs and make them poorer, she never replied to my second email with regards how the majority of HER electorate voted not counting, she can't support her electorates opinion sorry Judith I cant suport you or your party.

When this election is over I'm going to miss Amber's propaganda. 100 posts on a Bradford City forum, with Zero on Bradford City.

Where in the team do you think we should strengthen in January? Or doesn't it matter as you will be long gone after the election.
