Just had a look at street view. Ironically the VW seems to be parked on the same spot.

What is not obvious from your pictures is the signage which appears to have dates/times on it. So the restrictions may not apply at the time you took the photographs.

What's that got to do with parking on the pavement?

Are they breaking the law by parking like that? If not what would the wardens do if they were sent ?

Didn't upset me as I just referred to them as Clowns and wasn't aware you'd seen the size of their private bits ;);)

Parking is legal on pavements only if there is no restriction for parking on the road at that point - and so long as you cause no unnecessary obstruction (much debated - consult case law) and so long as you are under 7.5 tonnes and so long as you still comply with rules needed to park on the road at that point. Loading is excepted. That means not within 10m of a junction, not facing oncoming traffic at night or without lights in a 40mph+ zone at night, not in a clearway, not opposite double white lines or a chevroned area with unbroken boundary lines, not next to bus stop boxes, bus lanes or cycle paths, not next to double yellows or single or broken yellows in force, etc. When you are parked on the pavement, you are still considered to be parked on the highway at that spot so must observe the same rules. You can generally only park on the pavement, provided you do not block it, where lack of restrictions would have let you park on the road at that point. Parking on the other side of the path, so legally off the highway, is permitted, e.g. some shop fronts.

Wonder if the wardens just sort of went rogue, or were in the area anyway, or the council sent them.

Either way, looks really shitty on their part.

According to T&A the charges are now scrubbed after talks with the Club. Well done to Paula Watson.

Better still that disabled supporters are still allowed to park there on matchdays.

    Excellent work from all concerned.

Let’s hope people don’t misread it and think it is back to usual on all the new restrictions

Thats sounds like a standard council reply. I think when something changes then a notice explaining the changes should also be put up. The wardens were there as it sounds like they get paid on commission

No its not actually. Sentancing takes all that into account in law so its not pathetic at all

    At last common sense prevails
The council must have thought how much revenue a home game brings in to the city
and realized how much it could have affected income in already depleted Bradford
