I couldn't watch us sober. When I used to arrive bang on kick off with my old job on Tuesday nights and not had a drop, it was painful beyond belief.

Christ on a bike, how old are you? Did you ‘emigrate’ to Australia between 1788 and 1868?

Old enough to be your dad mate, very randem time frame.

And why you getting upset about me saying the average male football fan would go for a beer before or after God forbid after a football match, watching city it is sometimes better if you do get a few beers inside before kick off lol.

Are you another politicaly correct person

I don't believe anybody who uses the term 'LOL' as much as you do, is old enough to be anyone's dad.

Where did I mention going for beers in my post? I have no issues with fans having a beer or two before/after a game. It was your comments about running on the pitch that makes me cringe.

As for the dates, and the relevance to your ‘emigration’, try Googling it.
    ;)

No brainer, 70s & 80s was a class time to follow City, especially away on Patsys fun bus.

I went to every away game on Patsy's coach or special train. Interesting times, but I always felt safe, as those lads looked out for me!

Love a couple of pints of beer before a match.

Meeting up with people, a bit of banter.

However never needed to run onto the pitch or set off smoke bombs or flares.

My view is that people do that, as they are attention seeking and probably inwardly anxious, having to make a show for others, to demonstrate their (lack of) worth.

    They're adrenaline junkies, mate.

And being a little bit naughty and breaking the rules at a footy match pretty much completely safe from harm is probably the limits of their imagination in seeking that adrenaline.

    It's exciting, mate.

Not sure about Patsy, Luton away was that the time we were the first away fans allowed in after Millwall rioted and they banned away fans ?
If it was, I was there and saw a copper get flattened by a massive piece of concrete that was thrown at him by City fans.
