Looking forward to this after Saturday 4.10 train out of Leeds - Come on Lads

 

Stevenage have a fair few injuries, their defense is particularly depleted after Saturday and they could have to field a young back line.

Same line up as Saturday for us I hope. An opportunity for another three points, Stevenage haven't shown indications of being prolific in front of goal so far. As usual if we take them lightly we will pay the price.

Because we booked early and have friends and family railcard it was £17.15 each way for Adults and £4.95 for under 16.

Not much in the way of pubs near the ground. Town is a good half hour walk away. The roebuck is a 10 minute walk away from ground though and allows away fans

It’s decent value but even with you booking early and using rail cards it’s still cheaper in the car.
This is everything wrong with public transport in this country.

 

Yeah but it takes twice as long to get there and back. And I suppose it depends if you want a beer or not. Also depends what type of car you drive too.

 

Can’t really have a conversation if you’re going to make stupid comments. Akpan is one of our (limited) options at CM and isn’t half as bad as some make out on here. Let last season go and judge him on this season. He’s barely featured so at this moment in time I’d have him either starting in place of Devine or replacing Devine if needed. There are no better options.

 

Did you go to the Preston cup game? Akpan was a disgrace. He strolled around, avoided challenges, never showed for the ball and on the few occasions he touched it he played kop out sideways or backward passes with no attempt to create anything positive. He simply didn't look interested. And I say this as someone who stuck up for him at times last season when others were giving him stick.

There's no way he should get in ahead of Danny Devine, who at least puts himself about. I'd love us to get Akpan off our books but, sadly, I can't see anyone coming in for him so I fear we're stuck with him stealing a wage until his contract expires.

 

I watched him all last season. I watched him at preston and oldham this season and when he featured in pre-season. 0 improvement, 0 fight and 0 passion for someone his size. Same as Doyle the sooner he's on his way the better for all of us. What is he good at? As far as I'm concerned we'd get as much benefit playing someone from the youth team as playing Akpan.

In contrast just to prove I'm not negative for the sake of it, AOC (minus that pass) and O'Donnell for example have been great so far this season and have really turned it round in my eyes.
