I don’t no. Last season for the first half he looked a class above league 1 at times, until a dreadful collapse in form although having that defense in front of him I don’t think helped for a second. He’s started very assured this season which has gone hand in hand with a far more secure back four, just coincidence or staring us in the face what a big part of the problem was? At this stage my chips are on the latter. I think we’ll struggle to get better at this level. His distribution leaves a lot to be desired, but watch Hornby on Tuesday made me think maybe O’Donnells isn’t to bad.

I think the answer to that is partly his distribution - his long range passing is a bit hit and miss, and partly his slowish pace. Thankfully that isn't too much of an issue in League 2. I agree he is excellent defensively, very good in the air and was as solid as a rock yesterday. Nothing got past him.

Whatever his limitations he's good enough for most teams in this division, or atleast appears to be. Just looks like he hasn't been given an opportunity until now.

It's weird to think how Paudie doesn't get into this team on merit. O'Connor and BRE have been rock solid at the back.

Does Patrick look like he has beefed up a little. He didn’t look quite so skinny as I remember.
He still fell off the ball a bit too easy once or twice.
I am quite happy with his performance. His touch let him down on occasion but he will be rusty. Hopefully we will get the opportunity to play him as we did yesterday.
He has some fantastic players to teach him in Donaldson, Vaughan and Scannel.
Hope he takes it on board.

I admire your sentiment and patience towards Patrick but sadly, he's simply not good enough in my opinion. As a team with aspirations of promotion this season we need much much better than him. Hope we get another striker in and hes loaned out to non league

That's only because he would trip over his own feet if he ran into them.

Is Kiwomya known on these boards as ‘Park’? Both seem so deluded and tunnel visioned that they can’t see the truth

Get a win Tues and and we'll prob be in top 3 shows how shite this league is. Surely the owners can see that strengthening the squad with 3 decent additions and we'd piss this league.

I think as with several others, this is the season where we find out if they can cut it. I'm willing to give him the chance as it's the best environment he could be in to develop with the off field crap resolved and some fantastic experience in Donaldo and Vaughan to learn from. I doubt he'll be anything more than cover but if he comes in and does well then that can only be a good thing.

Yep, if he cant do it in L2 with those 2 to learn from then he wont do it. Yet he had the opportunity to shine with Yeovil last season and he hardly got any game time as far as I can remember. If we're being honest i think most would agree that he's only here now because of Edin's insanity a couple of seasons ago. Considering the quality of the forwards of teams promoted from L2 recently, including ourselves, I'm pretty certain hes not gonna be up to it. I'm sure hes got a great attitude, but if were losing and looking towards the bench to bring someone one to change the game or nick a goal, I have little confidence in him to do that. I honestly hope hes loaned out, to save his wage and run down his contract. Looked like Bambi on ice yesterday. A shame but it's true

Bowyer will work with him, if anyone can make Omari great it’s Bowyer! McCartan? He has to work incredibly hard, harshly he reminds me of Doyle.

Comment on Saturdays game, Oldham were the better of the two sides until after the second goal and if they had a 1 or 2 decent strikers I think the game would not have had such an happy ending. Ive read on these pages that GB is possibly bringing in another two before the weekend, I hope this is correct.

Just had a look at the WYScout reports that Dmitry has put up.

Based on those I think Scannell had a disappointing game despite the goal.

Apparently only 3 crosses in the game. 2 into the box. And only 1 of those crosses was deemed accurate.
He also had a 56% passing accuracy over 16 passes.

Compare to Wood who had 7 crosses. 6 into the box with a 67% accuracy.
He also had 63% pass accuracy over 16 passes.

If we are to give the front two the service they need we need to get those number of crosses and accuracy up.

In terms of attack by flank. Left flank there were 10 attacks but presented 60% danger level. Right blank 18 attacks but 23% danger level. 7 attacks through central midfield with a 17% danger level.... which says it all really.
