Fantastic. Got to love Klopp.

 

I like seeing a big club embarrass themselves, become small minded and it gives me hope that long term Bradford City can learn from the likes of Liverpool and City.

Think big sunshine, think big!

 

City following in the footsteps of Liverpool and Man City? Unless you know any Arab oil sheikhs, how long do you plan on living.....?

 

It's about mindset.

Of course financially we can't compete but Utd fans are now losers, weak minded. Accepting being the second club in Manchester and even wanting City to beat them. Accepting Players not producing.

Bradford City fans had a habit of accepting rubbish also and some even clapped the dosh at the end of season lap. We need to be more driven.

If you want success then you've to think big and not lower your standards.

 

Take your man united claptrap into General Football fordy. Bad enough that it's mostly guff, but this is a Bradford City forum.

 

It's been mentioned that the game could be an advert to potential players and I think that's a fair point.

But what about fans? If it's an enjoyable day, great atmosphere and a credible performance, could be a great opportunity to attract a few fans.... maybe follow the game with a marketing offer of STs being on sale for a limited time only at the reduced price of 169 or whatever they were.....

On the back of a much more professional season, some good signings and what I'm sure will be a good day tomorrow, the club might just shift a few more tickets....

 

Agree never too late to try and catch more fans, I would think there will be kids there tomorrow who's dads have brought them along because it's Liverpool, for me the club should have a flyer on every seat with various offers, as a club we should not be missing a chance like this for the sake of a few flyers.

It's a huge marketing opportunity.

 

I was saying to family yesterday. On the back of tomorrows occasion, I think City should be marketing a last push for season tickets at affordable prices. You never know, we could possibly attract another 1000 or so

 

Its a no brainer and i would expect the club to be taking full advantage of tomorrows opportunity to sell season tickets, merchandise etc. Its a day to show appreciation to a former player but equally its also an absolute gift of an opportunity to make revenue. I hope i'm presuming correctly that the club shop will be open tomorrow and the club will be actively marketing season ticket opportunities at the game. Where there's football fans there's money.

 

Although it will be a sad occasion on Sunday I think it will generate a great atmosphere and as I say get a kid in who's never experience that before they could be hooked.

 

Definitely. It would be an opportunity missed if the club don't capitalise on it.

Klopp: Why it was important to pay tribute to Stephen Darby

James Carroll@James_Carroll84Jürgen Klopp insists the Liverpool players and staff had no hesitation in getting together to lead a special tribute to Stephen Darby ahead of training at Melwood on Saturday morning.

The squad gathered to chant the name of the ex-Reds defender after being nominated to take part in the #StephenDarbyBaby challenge.

Darby, who made six appearances for the club between 2008 and 2010, was forced to retire from professional football last year at the age of 29 after being diagnosed with motor neurone disease.

Liverpool will play another of his ex-teams – Bradford City – on Sunday to raise funds for the Darby Rimmer MND Foundation, as well as awareness for Distance for Darbs – a charity event that will see people walk 65 miles from Valley Parade to Anfield later this month in support of the organisation.

Klopp told Liverpoolfc.com with smile: “It was a rare moment when awareness on social media can make sense, I would say! That’s why we did it and it was good fun.

“Football is only a game, but sometimes we can do some especially good things – and in this case, for Stephen Darby, which is very, very important. We know that and hopefully it will help.”
