We probably can't afford them. Several at Salford are League 1 players. Two earn £4k per week , of which Rooney is one. I think it's safe to presume such players would expect more to move to us but I don't see us paying £5k per week in League 2.

Danny Rowe for me. I'm sure he's on Bowyer's radar.

Even if you're oli his brother or his dad or agent you will not know the ins and outs of the deal between the 2 clubs. Only the club's will know about add ons bonuses and sell one. These are negotiated away from the players and their reps

What is it you know that every other connected and not so connected media outlet and sources close to the club don't?

    He's Ollies agent ?.
Hopefully McBurnie could get a move this closed season so we may have some input from the club regarding add ons.

If he moves this summer wouldn’t we receive a development fee for him anyway

He is out of contract this summer, even if Fylde come up, do you play in front of 1,400 or 13,000? Think he could easily make the step up, 27 goals this season and has consistently scored over 20 each season. People might say Ross Hannah etc but he was just a 2 season goal wonder and also played at a lot lower level than the league just below league 2.

I think he will be in demand this summer. They turned down offers in both the last two transfer windows, hoping that he will fire them to promotion. He has certainly been very prolific in the 5th and 6th tiers. Definitely worth a punt on a 'free' transfer you would have thought

@Ricc@Ricc is correct in his post of just about everything, but I disagree about the players downing tools or playing better in December in a bid to leave. I feel this was Hopkin’s fault personally. He stumbled on a formula that worked and despite picking up results and City scoring plenty of goals, he inexcusably changed it again at the start of January and we never got going again.

To claim the players only started playing in a bid to orchestrate a move away is just silly. If that was the case, why have we looked worse than ever during March/April, when those same players will want out this summer?

Oh Christ, having to read this guff again. Having read it on the T&A, I’m now subjected to having to read it again.

    And you’re STILL WRONG..!

Ross Hannah, may not be the best example, but Jake Speight came from a similar level to Rowe. Or are we going to say that one didn’t work it because he “didn’t get a full pre-season”?

Sorry, Wayne ........ I just HAVE to chuckle at that ..............

The first time I saw Jake Speight 'perform' at VP, I was with a few friends in the Sunwin Stand. At HT a bloke in front said to his mate 'The lad's always looking for the ball, you can't knock him for that.'
    WE just chuckled in amusement.
AYE, the lad did ask for an' chase the ball !! .......... Only thing was, more often than not - When he got there, the ball had since gone !! When he did get the ball, he really didn't have a clue what to do with it. Poor positioning and choices time after time.

Danny Rowe would suit Bowyer to a T and be cheap too.

Danny Rowe - is he like 30 or something?

I've heard of late bloomers, but let's be realistic here. He'd need to be one of the lowest earners rather than one of the highest. On those conditions, may be worth an outside gamble.

Playing for Fylde I am sure Bowyer will have seen him and have an opinion but at 29 with no league experience it would definitely be a gamble

He will go to some other big spending, bad value club, City fans will moan like heck that we missed out, he won't do anything, and it will all be forgotten about, but the memory of missing out on nothing will linger on.

Pretty typical of the hand wringing every summer.

Remember 'missing out' on Reece Thompson? What a prick.

What we need is a team full of Gary Jones, Rory McCardles, Stephen Derbys , James Merediths, Andrew Davies and Killas those were the days!
