Bowyer Should Abandon First Team Affairs!

The mans barely in the door.. he has inherited a load of on loan players and players that arent good enough in this league, however we will see an exodus in 5 weeks.. what is embarrassing is how hopkin and other managers decide to throw in the towell when they are likely to get a relegation on their CV.
Lets hope Rupp either stumps up or sells up ASAP!.

 

An interesting post and I do get where it is coming from even if it is a somewhat deluded idea and wont happen in practical terms - if it helps have it from a trusted source that GB would willingly send back nearly all the loanees now if it was possible not to have a detrimental affect on the relationships with the parent clubs. We must get past this scenario some are painting that this is tarnishing GB and start to see it for what it is - a chance to determine who he WANTS at the club next season. Posted before that it might not be possible to move on everyone he would wish to but whatever happens there is no doubt GB will know he is 'fair game' for the critics once next season starts. I just hope he is given a chance by the more 'trigger happy' posters on here as there is a massive rebuild to be carried out.

Forget all the crap that individually we have some decent players, as a unit and a team they are lacking in so many key areas - size, character, winning mentality, balance etc - and the whole culture needs a total change

We have some chronically impatient fans, but now is the time for those individuals to practice common sense.

Lay off Bowyer until he's started the rebuild.

Lets face it, they won't lay off any longer even if they obviously should.

 

Fantastic post Simon. It is so frustrating that a minority of fans cannot see beyond what is happening now. As I keep saying Parky was given time to turn the squad around, I am sure Rhodes will do that, and will give good advice to Stefan.

 

I’ve sacked this season off for exactly those reasons. It’s done, we’re down, and this group don’t deserve any support. The season just needs to end.

I hope Bowyer makes the most of the next month - not by preparing the team, but by focusing all of his efforts on the rebuild needed for next season.

 

It’s a struggle to get any enthusiasm going atm. If they beat Coventry I will turn up on Easter Monday!

Im certainly going to Wombles game, in order to observe the minutes silence. Whether I then get into town for a drop, or stay to laugh at them remains to be decided.

 

I’ll agree, the final game is slightly different, for these reasons, though I am sure folk that want to pay their respects in their own way don’t have to necessarily be there. It’s all just a sorry state of affairs, footballing-wise. I don’t think I’d blame you at all for going for the start and then leaving after, each to their own. It’s not going to happen, an empty stadium for any of the remaining home games, I know that, just I wonder what it would be like, quite impactful is my honest belief.

Not sure thats the best description "cronically imptiant fans" unfortunatly under the last regime and up untill Stuarts sacking we had been very sucsessfull for a club that had see so few good times over the years.
I think most now reailise the coming season is a big season I have said IMO we need to be in the shake up at the end of the season or maybe better.
I would expect most Bradford City fans would agree, I certainly won't be happy with a midtable finish, so does that put me in the "cronically impatient" caturgory .

I don't think anybody will be happy with a mid table finish, but it's about being realistic as to just how horrendously bad we are right now. As you say, next season is a big one for us. However imo so much depends on what GB brings in and just as importantly how much of the dross he can ship out.
So much rubbish that's contracted for next season may mean we are limited as we will still be suffering from the 'Rahic' effect. I'm confident GB knows what's needed but it may just take longer than one summer to sort this mess out. Given the choice I wouldn't keep any of our non loanees bar Caddis but realistically some will still be here. If as a minimum GB can bring in sufficient resources to build a solid spine-keeper, strong centre half pairing, strength and pace in central midfield and a goal threat then we could do well......but that is a big ask from where we are now.

 

The chronically impatient among us are complaining Bowyer hasn't changed the course of our season or improved our results.
