I am really not that fussed about him tbh. When he played for us, he was over weight and not fit. He clearly does have talent, but he needs to look after himself. Furthermore he has made it absolutely clear that he does not want to come back. I don’t know about anyone else, but I have had enough of uncommitted players, so if Lincoln want him they can have him. He likes it there so I am guessing his agent will be sorting it out,

 

He has done alright for them if they want to keep him we should ask a fee

 

And they say no and you carry on paying a player who clearly doesn't want to return. If you want to shed players then you need to do it at the lowest cost possible.

 

Absolutely. If Lincoln or anyone else wants to take over an unhappy player's contract then snap their hands off. He isn't worth a fee anyway.

 

He’s that good he’s only started 21 times for a L2 side, with a further 12 substitute appearances. He scored 7 times with 3 assists. He hasn’t even been a regular for them.

If Lincoln want him, let them have him. No fee involved

Problem is this is exactly what’s wrong with football. A player is contracted to do a job, he’s being paid a high amount for it, and should do that job. He’s not Ronaldo ffs

Whatever our valuation of him,if Lincoln or any other team don't
match it, we negotiate,we don't "give away" a saleable asset as I
said, "we need the money". We don't just let him stay at Lincoln
paying part of his wages for nothing until his contract runs out
and they get him for free, or he goes where ever he is wanted that
appeals to him.

We paid £250k? for him I don't see "giving him away" for free a
"Low cost option"!

 

Huddersfield wanted Sean Scannell off the wage bill so we paid the nominal fee to take over his contract. If Lincoln want to keep Shay, then a similar deal should take place. The amount of shit he got when he was here, I don’t blame him wanting to stay there.

Always good to see Lincoln doing well that goes without saying, but that is completely separate issue from whether McCarten comes back. I do not want any player at this club who does not want to be here. I am just an ordinary fan, however I still think that players who pull on the claret and Amber should know they are privileged to do so.
